Q: I'm interested in 2 lo-volatility stocks, with some dividend and some momentum for a minimum of 2 years. Most of these REITs mentioned have lots of hold recommendations, but very few buys despite their recent outperformance?? Are they overbought? Can you pick 1 or 2 US REITS for me and 2 CDN reits as well?

Q: Hi team,
Your thoughts pls. on: AnywhereCommerce Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Square

The lawsuit, filed in the California federal court (case number 3:19-cv-04311) on July 26, 2019, asserts the unauthorized use of patented technologies, which is prohibited by law, and is intended to protect AnywhereCommerce's significant investment in its innovative mPOS technology which is regarded and recognized as the de facto patent family relating to a variety of payment card reading apparatuses tethered to a smartphone or tablet.

The complaint asserts that Square has knowingly infringed these patents for years despite previously acknowledging the priority of these patents in various filings before the United States Patent Office and continues to willfully infringe these patents today. Among the patents at issue is U.S. Patent No. 8,281,998, issued on October 9, 2012, which is ironically cited as prior art in a patent later issued to Square founder Jack Dorsey.

Per Oliver Griffin, lead counsel for Kutak Rock representing AnywhereCommerce, "Square simply took that same technology for itself, becoming one of the largest and most famous companies in the world by falsely holding itself out as the originator of technology allowing the use of smartphones and tablets to accept credit card payments."

AnywhereCommerce approached Square in January in the hope that Square, "given all of its market share and business success, it might find it appropriate to compensate AnywhereCommerce for the use of AnywhereCommerce's technology on which Square's business was largely built."

Knowing about this lawsuit, do you think prudent to add to a position?
Thx!

Q: Hello,
Have your thoughts on Graftech changed since your last comment? Mohnish Pabrai..a deep value investor took a decent size position on this company. I would love to hear your thoughts. At first glance this seems like a nice niche company with a monopoly in graphite electrodes. Brookefield also seems to an interest in this company. Thank you for your insight.

Q: Can you provide a current assessment of each of these. Both have taken a little step down in the past few months. Can you summarize why each pulled back and whether the events that caused it were a blip or a change in fundamentals that one should be concerned about. For a 5 year hold which is better or would you advise equal parts of each?

Q: Hi team,

I have had some recent success in the large cap consumer space in the U.S. with WMT, TGT and HD, with the first two, in particular, getting good traction in their on-line sales. It seems like the consumer is alive and well in the U.S. and recession fears are certainly not showing in large cap retail. I like to stay with what is working in the market until it doesn’t. So, that brings me to BBY. It also has been moving into on-line sales but had a few stumbles a couple of years ago, if I recall. On the tariff front, I am not sure if it sources a lot of electronics from China or not. I really don’t have a strong view on BBY, and while it looks like good value here, I am not a really a value guy. What are your thoughts?

Thanks again.
