Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! I hold AT & T shares and have done so for a while. I am underwater in this holding and considering the upcoming deal, would you recommend still keeping the stock? There is a strong suggestion that the dividend will be cut. My alternative thought would be to sell out and invest in the QQQ for a long term hold. Your insight would be welcome! Cheers, Tamara

Q: Hello, I bought shares of AT&T eight years ago. I am still holding the stock because of the dividends. What does the deal with Discovery concretely mean for the average investors? Will AT&T change name? Will I get shares of Discovery? Should I sell my AT&T shares or just keep them and wait? I just do not know what to do now. Thank you

Q: I am rebalancing and need to add Material equities to my portfolio. Currently my only holding in that sector is MX:CA. Materials will represent 13% of the portfolio equal to my energy allotment. Generally speaking should I dispose of MX (because it is more or less energy focused)and start from scratch for sector investment? Can you provide some guidance on companies to check out? I have a 3-5 year horizon and like dividends.

Q: Hello Peter, here's a twist on one of your readers' favourite questions.

What three Canadian stocks and three US stocks have your highest confidence level that they will be higher in two years than they are today, regardless of the size of the return. (I suppose this question combines your confidence in the companies' management, industry and macro factors, etc. but also with a view to preservation of capital.)

Q: I hold both in a non-registered account, and I'm always concerned about U.S. companies doing spin-outs, because it invariably requires an 86.1 election with the CRA, because the total value of the spin-out is included in the current year's T5. While the 86.1 election will defer the tax for another time, it requires paper-filing, including a letter with your tax return that explains what you're doing, and I'd rather avoid it if I could. Do you know if the new company that will be created with AT&T's assets will be spun-out to existing AT&T shareholders, or does AT&T just receive the $45B mentioned today, and that is it?
Thanks very much...

Q: Dear Team,
These stocks are listed as 'comparables' in a Refinitiv report. I would appreciate your ranking as to capital structures and growth potential.
Thank you, Team!

Q: PLBY (PLAYBOY GROUP INC.)

Please provide some thoughtful insights on PLBY Group.

The company has performed very well since it de-SPACed approximately 8 months ago. The company was taken public in 2011 by Rizvi, but since Hefner's passing in 2017, the company has shifted in a new direction led by CEO Ben Kohn (someone with great success in his previous ventures - taking minority stakes in pre-IPO tech companies [Twitter, Facebook, Square, Snapchat, SpaceX, Uber]). I have watched as many interviews from the CEO and recent developments I could get my hands on, and I'm impressed!

Retail Analyst Brian McGough from Hedgeye has touted this to be a potential 10 bagger ($250.00+ stock / 10B+ valuation) (See his publicly available tweets). Ben Kohn believes the company can be worth 40B.

The thesis here is multi-fold, which also includes improving licensing agreements (Hef and Co. were lackluster on this front), expanding in other categories, and possible NFTs (monetizing on their previous works).

There seems to be significant brand improvements from the old Playboy from my cursory exploration. www.playboy.com / www.yandy.com / www.playboy.tv
(Seems more youthful and gender balanced).

Just wondering if PLBY has come across 5i's radar, and what insights you can provide beyond the recent earnings report. Very much appreciated!
