Q: I own a few hundred shares in Zim largely for the dividend. Today they announced an increase in the quarterly dividend payable Sept 8th to $4.75 yet the shares dropped from over $50. US to under $48. Can you explain this strange behavior. I would have expected it to go the other way.

Q: I am thinking of the selling the above stocks for a tax loss as I am down significantly. Could you rank these stocks as to which you would sell first to last.
Also I still have quite a bit of stock in technology and was thinking of investing the money in a general ETF mimicking the market. Which ETF would you recommend.

Q: what would you suggest for a solid health care position in Canada or the USA? I have UNH. I was looking at HHL but I would like your thoughts on a stock or two. I hope you and the team are enjoying the summer. Thanks Dan.
Q: I have taken a look at my distribution of investments, and determined that I have more room to enter an additional position in the technology space. I was gung-ho on starting a position with Google, until I discovered that Sylogist is currently paying a 6.86% dividend (as of yesterday's closing share price). I currently lean towards investing in more established companies that have been able to maintain market share in their area of operation, and Google definitely fits that description. Would the dividend offer by Sylogist, along with the potential upside, be a more prudent investment with someone who has a five-year time horizon, or is the steady-as-it-goes approach with Google the safer approach? As always, I look forward to your comments and insight. Thanks so much!

Q: Hi 5i,
Reuters reported that WMT has reached a deal with PARA where WMT offers a PARA plus subscription to its WMT plus members. This is certainly beneficial to WMT members as they get a streaming service for no extra charge. PARA has been languishing for some time, with all the other streamers. Do you see any financial benefits to PARA from this deal any potential boost to its prospects in the streaming wars?
Thanks.

Q: Hi folks
There hasnt been a question about SE for awhile now. What are your current thoughts on this stock?Today (Monday) has some heavy trading but it is way down off its highs of course. Would you be a buyer?
Thank you for your steady guidance in these volatile times.

Q: Hi 5i,
Seeing a lot of movement in this one on 15-Aug; could this be due to increased interest resulting from Michael Burry taking a significant position? Or is there more to the story?

Q: With new electric vehicles coming I would be interested in looking at good investments which will be required for these vehicles. Would a mining stock be best, What stock would you recommend for Lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, and graphite? I am open to other suggestions for a good investment for our new electric vehicles going forward.
Thank you. Donna
Thank you. Donna
Q: Hi,
What do you think of MTTR’s earnings release? The market seems to like it, for now anyway, but it is a risk on day. While it has negative cash flow, with over $500M cash and equivalents and no debt, is that likely sufficient to fund it until it starts making a profit?
Thanks again.

Q: May I have your thoughts on ILMN? Analysts appear to be projecting a weak stock price going forward...but the 8% drop on Friday may be more a result of their comments rather than the latest companies financials. Could these Wall Street firms have already shorted the stock prior to their analyst's comments being issued? I believe the latest earnings are negative compared to a year ago but overall I felt the latest quarter financials weren't too bad. Is the short interest high? Are insiders buying? Is the Reddit crowd circling? I'm sitting at a loss but still prepared to hang-in-there.
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks,
Jim
Q: The company looks very interesting. My hesitation is the drop from 99 to 20. What happened .
Q: Would you continue to hold ATVI until the closing of its acquisition by Microsoft or would to sell now and move into a better opportunity? Even if it takes a year to close the acquisition, an 17.5% annualized return from $80.80 today to $95 at closing seems pretty good to me. But If you see better opportunities in today's market, what would they be?
Q: I am looking to add a Consumer Discretionary (CD) stock to my portfolio. I try to only hold the best companies I can find in the sector. I lean towards AMZN but prefer to hold companies with dividends that grow with the company, like TSCO. Which of these two would you choose?
Is there another CD stock that you would prefer and which I should consider?

Q: I got caught in the recent drop with too much US tech. I have positions in these companies, all down more than 50%. I don't need to consolidate, but could if it means a stronger recovery. Looking toward a recovery in the market, do you see any holdings that have a lesser chance of recovery, that should be sold to add to another position that has a better chance of recovery? Thanks!

Q: Some time ago i asked a question regarding the merits of holding a handful of us stocks along with my US etf’s, in order to get a little extra boost. You were ok with the strategy but cautioned against the kind of stocks I held i.e. Google, nvidia, msft, Costco, abbivie. While they were good stocks you said that the problem is that they are well represented in the various etf’s and that if i wanted a “kicker” to provide boost that I should go smaller in size. I wonder if you could provide a handful of stocks that would fit that criterion and would be ones that one would want to own long term. If they were also good candidates for selling options on that would be an added bonus. Thanks for your expertise and advice.
