I am starting a RESP for our grandsons: one born in 2021, the other born in 2023.
To maximize the CESG grant I contribute just over 2500$/year.
How would you suggest to invest the funds ? 2 or 3 index funds?
Would you include a NASDAQ -100 index fund such as XQQ, ZQQ or HXQ or even XIT (Canadian tech ETF)?
Q: What are your thoughts on Qualcomm. Sell, hold or buy more. Future prospects for the company? I will soon be in a capital loss position on this investment. Thank you for your guidance.
Q: I heard from a recent analyst that there is a lack of single family homes in the USA ? In the last 3 months, DFH has been on the move. What do you think of this stock or any other that might be worth looking at ?
Q: So after listening to Josh Brown interview Ric Edelman this ETF was discussed and seems timely. Would appreciate your views on Mr Edelman who sounds plugged in to what the future may deliver (he does however predict the downfall of Alphabet which isn't the base case of many - you included). That aside wondering about this ETF and your current opinion on whether it's buyable. Given the possibilities of AI, robotics, potential developments in medical science and treatment - all things that may fascinate but about which many of us have very limited understanding or vision about - might you characterize this holding in an appropriate portion as a smart piece of an overall portfolio that provides investors with exposure to future areas of potentially exponential growth - and perhaps your take on this ETF vs the ARK ETFs re valuation, risk and holdings comparisons - appreciate your viewpoint.
Q: could you give us your case for PERI,as you seem to like it.
Why is PERI so much more compelling then for example APPS or AT?
Wouldn't you think advertising budgets decline in times of a recession?
It might be apples to oranges, but if having only one choice between INMD,AXON and PERI,which one would you pick?
Q: I have recently come into some US cash. I would like to put some of it into a US TFSA account but am not sure if this would be prudent as, the US doesn't recognize the TFSA in the same manner as our RRSPs. If this is a good idea, what types of equities should be put into it: any type of US equity or Canadian stocks that pay dividends in USD?
Q: Sorry the question is for ORGN:US NASDAQ Origin Materials Inc (not orgn:cnx) is potential here long term? ORGN is down 41.5% for the last 12 months. This company is among the least leveraged in its industry, with a debt to total capital ratio of 2.1%. Please provide some of your perspective and analysis. Thank you.
Q: On Aug 8/22 you answered a question on BLCO and talked about a possible overhang on the stock from BHC ownership.
Can you update that reply? Basically looking for your opinion on BLCO and whether you have the "no need to rush out and buy" feeling about it. Perhaps their new CEO is a catalyst?
Do you prefer COO:US as an alternative...but seems much more expensive on valuation.
Q: LVS seems to be making some noise lately, it was a top pick of a BNN guest the other day and the market seems to reacting well to their latest results. The company also has received a number of analyst upgrades I believe. The last answers about this one were in the more restrictive times of COVID (especially China). Any current thoughts, especially any cautions to counter the “euphoria”?
Q: What is your opinion on this company? Are they in the midst of a turnaround? I read somewhere that the CEO has stock options that won't vest until the stock reaches 36 per share. Does this sound like motivation to get the house in order?
