Q: My question may be somewhat technical but is Alphabet being overly punished today? Stats I found showed Google had 84% of the search market, Bing at 8%.

Q: I am confused . There are numerous companies called “Jacobs Engineering” , but I had always assumed that the giant Dallas based “J” Jacobs Solutions was the one you recommend . Recently you recommended “JEC” , refereed to as Jacobs Engineering Group. Please clarify the difference from an investment POV. Thanks

Q: Hi, I hold ABBV as a healthcare holding, since Canadian choices are limited. Any idea why ABBV is weak lately? Do you think it is company related, or macro related? What do you see going forward, either for operational performance or macro head/tail winds? Not planning to touch it unless something fundamentally changing, but it is close to technical resistance and a further fall here could have it testing $130's.

Q: I have been able to top up my TFSA accounts and now find I am sitting on about 40K in USD. I am looking for growth, preferably with a dividend, in a well managed and reliable company, or companies. I'm overweight in Tech & Utilities, OK in Finance, low in Energy, underweight in Industrial. A quick look at the US sectors has given me the feeling that now isn't the time to start with Staples, Health Care or Utilities and that there seems to be caution with respect to Energy. Materials and possibly Industrials, which has puzzled me, as I would think China reopening and the US's infrastructure spending would have helped the last three sectors mentioned. I welcome your thoughts, and any suggestions, as they are usually very insightful!

Q: Back on Nov 2 nd, in answering a question about LUMN …you mentioned concerns about “ glaring issues “.

As is typical 5i really nailed that issue.

Now they have eliminated one of the reasons I own the stock ( namely the dividend).

According to Rbc the PE is 2.6. At the current depressed price do you see any significant upside potential over the next 3-6 months ?

PS I also own AQN which cut its dividend but at least did not eliminate it.
Can we read anything into this? More of the same in the year ahead.
