Q: Hello Folks:
Currently we own solid positions in CIC.TO AND MFC-PK.TO and interested in both MAERSK and USA because of dividends (Maersk 19.24% and USA 9.98%).
What is your opinion of these companies, security of their dividends, growth etc. Maersk is one of the world's premier shipping companies although one questions sustainability of such a rich dividend.

Q: Hello Peter,
Would the fintech stocks be classified under technology stocks similar to Amazon, Google, etc or are they seen as more financial ? if there is a rotation out of tech, would the fintechs be hit accordingly? Thanks very much

Q: Hello, I hold RBF5733 & RBF5737 in my RRSP from a previous employment contribution plan. Would you consider VFV a suitable replacement for a lower MER and a bit of a dividend or is there a compelling reason to stick with the two RBF funds?
Thank you

Q: I am looking for a good large cap USD ETF for my RRSP. I am 68 years old and would like a stable ETF with a lower P/E and OK dividend, hence considering RSP:US rather than the S&P 500 with a high P/E. Overall want an ETF with a good total return over 5 years.
I am considering the above 3 ETFs or perhaps you know of something better.
Thanks!

Q: 4 disasters in my cash account these year. Each position down between 30-45%.

How would you proceed?
Can you please give a brief comment on each security with a recommendation to either sell or hold. If selling is advised to crystallize a loss, what would be a proxy? And lastly, would you buy any of them back after the 30 day window?

Please feel free to deduct credits as you deem fit.

Thank you.

Q: Hi

With the stock in freefall and it location, do you think INMD is a possible takeout candidate?

As I hold it in my TFSA I cannot claim a tax loss.

I am thinking of biting the bullet and holding for a few more quarters to see what happens. In addition we are in the tax loss selling season that only puts more stress on the share price.

In your view is there anything wrong with my thinking.

Thanks again.

Mike

Q: Everyone, what is the rate of return for the large cap tech stocks vs the Nasdaq 100. For the large cap I would classify: AAPL, AMZN, GOOG, MSFT and NVDA ( you can add more to the list). Please use a time period that you have good stats for but or a 5 year or 10 year return period. I would like to know if it is worthwhile only investing in the big tech stocks overall. Clayton.

Q: If one were interested in short term trading, which of these two would be a better candidate today? I’ve done well buying and selling both - buying dips and selling pops. I am a little afraid of Nvda due to it being priced for perfection, although of course both have seen nice gains.

Happy Holidays to you and the 5i readers. Thanks as always for the great service;)

Q: Hello Folks:
We are seniors 75 years old considering somewhat re-adjusting our portfolio to include a sizable stake in BERK. We realize BERK does not provide dividends, however contain a superior mix of quality American Companies likely to weather economic storms better than most. We currently own a sizable mix of bank stock and understand you consider BERK a financial stock. Would you think we would need reduce our bank investment weight if purchasing BERK, or are there other segments we should consider reducing?
We are certainly don't intend doing so, however would BERK be a realistic stock to comprise the majority of a senior's (75 yrs.) growth portfolio (not considering lack of regular dividend payments)?
Thank you so much for your terrific service!!!!!
