Q: I am well diversified in the Canadian market, but own no US stocks and would like to buy some ETF's. I am looking at ZDJ, ZUE, VUN, AND ZSP, what is your opinion of these? or can you suggest others that will cover the US market and would you recommend that I also have a World ETF? Thank you for the great service and information you provide.

Q: Can I get your thoughts on this company. I have some US funds and am looking for a stable blue chip company with a good solid dividend. I currently have limited US exposure but am also looking at a few vanguard etf that you have recommended earlier.
Q: Not sure if you follow LOCO, but would appreciate your comments on the most recent earnings, valuation and the restaurant sector in the U.S. generally. Thank-you.
Q: Would appreciate an update to your assessment of GE: whether the potential special dividends, share buybacks and financial spin-off make GE a compelling buy?
Q: I own 1,000 shares. From a long term perspective should it be sold as there is concern that the cable business will be under pressure as it is old technology. On the other hand this concern may already be priced into the market.
Q: Hi folks:
Having a problem with what could happen between the prices of crude, gold, and the US dollar. During the 2008/09 "correction" the price of gold went down as money went into the US dollar. This past while we have the US dollar going up as the price of crude is going down. If we have another correction in the near future and gold goes down again and the price of crude stays around $50, will we see the US dollar go much higher as a result of this double whammy?
If yes, what is the best way to play the US dollar for Canadians?

Q: Hi Peter and Gang:
I bought AVID a few months ago after reading about insider buys, and it is already up 18%. I am thinking of buying more, but would like your opinion first. My knowledge of tech is zero. Thank you for your amazing service. I was up 26% in 2014 with your enormous help . I owe you.

Q: Wondering if you could give me an opinion on this stock after its recent quarterly report...i am looking for an alternative energy stock to compliment my fossil fuels holdings...love your service...cheers
Q: Hi Peter and co.
I recently scaled back on my US holdings in my RRSP in order to lock in my gains from capital and currency appreciation. I was lucky enough to buy the majority of my US holdings when the Canadian dollar was close to par with the US. My next step is to invest these proceeds into Canadian companies. When the Canadian dollar gets back on to an even playing field with the US, I may again look to increase my exposure in the US.
Considering this is my RRSP and I am 36 years old, what percentage of my holdings, in your opinion should I keep in US companies? My goal is to continue to see growth from my US holdings while minimizing currency risk.
Thanks!

Q: You mentioned this before that you were investors in Ebix Inc. and have met management (and liked them) in the past.
There has been some recent positive news in the company on the verge of some major ventures/partnerships/contracts. On the latest quarterly meeting call, the CEO Robin Raina was very optimistic that significant and material wins are in the pipeline. With your experience with management in the past, can you speak about what was it about the CEO or Executive team that made you confident in their abilities (at that time)? And in general, what type of qualities do you look for management for you to feel good about investing in a company?

Q: I am looking for an addition to my US portfolio in the financial sector. I am inclined to add AIG for its valuation and positive outlook if and when interest rates come down. But also KKR looks interesting and got a rich dividend. I will appreciate your expert advise as to the best choice.
Thank you as usual for your excellent service.

Q: Would you please give me your thoughts about this US ETF. (It makes up about 3% of my portfolio, and about 20% of my financial services sector.)
Thanks for your great service!!
Thanks for your great service!!
Q: I plan to sell my XLF and switch to AMP as the latter has performed much better over the last 10 plus year and it also pays a bigger dividend. Lately it's on a downward trend. While no one can time the market, do you think this is a good entry point?
Q: Hi Peter & Staff: This company has had a good run over the past few months. Would you consider it a hold or a sell at this point? Thank you.

Q: could you please comment on the report released last week? It appears OK to me but the stock is down.
Q: Peter& Co. Would appreciate your outlook and comparison for Intel (intc)vs Texas Instruments TXN. Seems to me they are similar type businesses and the yield is about the same on both. Thanks Art
Q: Hi 5i Team,
Recently you recommended VGG ETF for US exposure as a portion of an RESP portfolio. I see Vanguard also has VIG. Both ETFs have the exact same top 10 holdings. Vanguard has a third ETF in VGH which is the hedged version of VGG. All three ETFs are called US Dividend Appreciation. My question is should I be purchasing VGG (sold in Canadian dollars -but not hedged (?))or VIG (sold in US dollars). It seems that VIG has a MER of 0.10% while VGG has an MER of 0.29%.
Thanks,
Richard

Q: If you were me and owned a small position (0.5% of my portfolio) in Penny Mac would you sell? The recent earnings and stock performance has been awful.
Q: Hi Team,
I understand that this is a little bit outside the focus of 5i, but I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on TOUR after the investments made on Friday by large firms like Sequoia and Temasek. Could this be China's version of PCLN?
Thanks,
