Q: Hi Peter and Gang,
Would you please comment on Mitel's recent price drops. I am down by about 25%, should I hang on to my Mitel holdings or bite the bullet -- sell it at a loss and move on to something else. As always, great work guys.
Regards,
H.S.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
In my RRIF,I have 1425 shares of ABT with an average cost of $9.7042. (ABT closed today at $8.33).
In today's mail, I received an "Offer to purchase for cash, up to $50,000,000 in value of its common shares at a purchase price of not less than $7.75 and not more than $9.00 per common share". If I want to accept the tender offer, I need to inform my broker by Sept. 30.
I am confused as to what course of action I should take, or should I do nothing and hope that this share buyback will increase the value of my shares, hopefully above $9.7042? It's obvious that I bought high, and would feel better if I was able to sell at at least for what I paid. Or is ABT's range for this tender too low, and they think that the stock isn't worth any more than $9.00, and I should tender my shares for $9.00 in their "Dutch Auction"? (The other alternative offered by Absolute is to let them determine the price which could be as low as $7.75 or as high as $9.00).
Sorry for such a convoluted question, and as always, await your timely advice.

Many thanks, Doug

Q: Dear Gentlemen,
I want to re-balance PF by adding in Tech sector, 6 %. From 12 to 18%
I hold these stocks in different PF: AVO 3%, GIB.a 1%, CSU 4.2%, DSG 2%, OTC 1.5%,
For a balanced medium aggressive PF, your suggestions, adding new stocks or increasing actual stocks?
Thank You

Q: After its recent price drop, which seems to have been more market related, the valuation of SIMO looks attractive (ROE=19%, no long term debt, P/E=12.8, Forward P/E = 9 and a 2.36 % dividend). Would you agree?
Q: Would appreciate your comments concerning yesterday's earning release. The market does not seem to like it.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: Can you give me your opinion on Pivot and their QR? Are they expensive? Is the outlook positive with the initiation of the dividend?
Q: Hi Peter and the team, ABT is showing strength today as it's up a bit over 9%. Is this due to the deal signed between Absolute and AMD (the chip maker)? I'm not complaining, as ABT has been quite a laggard lately. What are your thoughts and/or recommendations going forward? Thanks in advance as always for the timely and valuable advice.
Q: Would like your opinion on tio.
Thanks
Thanks

Q: Seems like they missed earnings estimates of 25 cents? The stock is down after hours. What do you think?
Q: TSM pays about 3.5% div and it was a slow Eddy and gave me a 70% return since 2011. For this year to date it has lost 5.9%. This is in my RRSP. Cy (Cypress Semi) is much smaller and I think it has a much better growth potential, and it also pays a 4% dividend.I am a semi retired aggressive investor. Do you think this is a good swap?
Q: Hi Peter,
What do you think about flextronics prospects over the next 1-2 years. Thank you.

Q: RE: Information Technology stocks in the TSX.
I am looking to buy a stock in the IT sector of the TSX as part of my portfolio diversification.
I prefer a IT stock that pays a dividend.
Absolute software, Constellation, Com Dev, DH Corp, Open Text are some of the names I came up with.
I always try to get familiar with the businesses I buy stock in but in the IT sector I do have difficulty understanding these businesses even after reading the company description on their websites.
Could you give me your opinion on IT stocks listed in the TSX that pay a dividend. And also possibly give me a description of the business in layman's terms?
Thank you very much.
Best regards
