Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: In late July 2015 CSU peaked intraday just below $600. I sold at $574 reaping a lovely almost 500% gain. The stock bottomed just below $450 in Feb 16 and has been lurching higher since, then going on a $45 tear in the last two weeks.

Two questions:

1. Any reason you can see for the recent tear?

2. As the stock again re-approaches its all time high, and knowing you have been a longtime supporter, what are your views on the company and the stock at these levels?

Thanks

Q: It seems that 5i and company have the power to move markets with ABT and TOY both up today!

I have 15% allocated to 4 tech companies - CSU, MNW, ENG and OTC - all in fairly equal amounts within a diversified portfolio. Would you endorse a switch out of MNW and into KXS for better potential growth with reduced risk or do you feel their profiles are similar? Would adding a fifth holding be better and if so, should I increase the tech percentage or reduce one or all equally?

Appreciate your insight.

Q: Hey 5i,
Can you provide your analysis on YFI.v after the recent news and shareprice appreciation. I own shares with some "play" money in my TFSA. After basing for a long period in the 20 cent range it has essentially doubled in price to coincide with some news that validates their technology. Understanding the risk involved, do you ride out the momentum?

Q: Intrinsyc Technologies reported yet again another stellar quarter of both revenue growth and profits. This company's stock seems really cheap compared to other small tech companies and given this stock trades in $C and and results are reported in $US. Shouldn't this stock get much more attention given the space they are in, the growth, the profits and the strong balance sheet?

Q: I notice sometimes you suggest selling after a security rises quickly and sharply, but for the most part suggest selling related to fundamental changes or portfolio weighting.

For shopify my weighting is fine, but has risen $36 to $51 quickly. With limited info that it's around 3.5% of a diversified portfolio, is this one to take a little off the table or let ride given fundamentals & weighting?
