Q: My son is starting to build is TFSA portfolio but, as yet, owns no technology stock. Which technology stock would you recommend for a hold of at least 1 year (who knows when he will need the money)? Any of the above or something different. Since he is not an experienced investor, stability is a consideration. Thank you and HNY to your whole team (it is a self-serving wish: if your year is good, it is likely to benefit all of your members)

Q: We have done well with Enghouse - I company I would never have heard of without 5i. Thank you.
Our weighting in Enghouse has reached 8.3%. This is due to ESL's stock price increase plus the declines in Energy, Materials, Financial & Utility sectors. Is it time to reduce ESL's weighting to 7% or not sell and hope for a recovery in the other sectors? If I were to sell I would probably increase our weighting in MDA to 5% or open a 2% weighting in XTC or KXS.

Q: I am looking for a Canadian ETF that tracks the Nasdaq and one that tracks the Russell 2000. I am looking for a product that is not hedged to the Canadian dollar. From what I gather this is not available.

Q: Hello 5i team.
I submitted a question within the past week, and mentioned I was down 10% it is actually over 20% and your stock answer was "it is up 40% in a year". I don't quite understand that statement when my purchase price was $29.00 in June/15.
I cannot really see how this was ever up 40%, and I feel if a stock falls from a high of $32.00 to $21.00 that something has happened within this company. "Just sayin"
Can you advise how oftain you actually reach out to management of the companies that you recommend.
Thanks and really do appreciate your service

Q: Currently down on this one 10% now, and read you last reply of Nov.17-. For whatever reason tax selling must be out of the way by now, and I cannot find anything good on this one. I have read some tweets of insider selling, and wonder if I should cut my loses before it gets worse, and get on with life. I really hate selling at such large loses, but seems to be the story of my life lately.

Q: Is it to late to get into Kinaxis? I just read the globe and mail article which suggested that competition from the big guys might be a risk. It is also somewhat expensive. Your advice would be appreciated.

Q: Hi, after watching for nearly 2 years, I bought a small position on DEC/4 @26.27. The stock continues to steadily rise over past few years delivering in almost every quarter. I like the Global Logistics network business and huge opportunity in the future. DSG operates in small and medium scale business segments. What competition DSG has in this field? Also, it appears that co. has generated most of its growth thro' acquisitions. Is slowing organic growth an issue? Also from valuation perspective, how does it compare with CSU and KXS? Should I wait for adding to my position? I also noted that Descartes has a very large Institutional ownership, 88% per nasdaq.com, with some well know names like T. Rowe Price (13%, started and added this year July, 2015)and Mawer, BMO, Neuberger, CC&L etc. It could reduce liquidity, but is it a strong signal in favour of thsis company ? Thanks for your help, as always.

Q: My Tech sector, which comprises ESL, OTC, & SVC has been doing pretty good lately. Am thinking of adding GIB.A. Would you advise dropping any of the above in favour of GIB.A? Any of them getting a bit tired? Really appreciate your insight.

Q: I have held SPDR Health Care E.T.F. XLV-N for some time. At this time, it is a hold or sell? Going forward for a longer term horizon, Is there another US ETF that I should take a position in?

Q: Hello again gurus!

I am interested in increasing my US holdings.

I presently hold the Vanguard Total Market and like its very low MER. I intend to add to my US holdings. What is your opinion of the BMO's ZWH?

Would you suggest that I simply add to my Vanguard Total Market Fund or put my new money into something like ZWH which, while it has a higher MER, also has a higher dividend?

Either way, I intend to buy and hold the ETF's.

Thanks.
