Q: hey Peter & Team,

From what I can see results on the recent report were mixed but overall the year wasn't horrible. Yet, the stock is down over 50% since June, 2017 including the big hit today.

Would you mind commenting on the recent report and letting me know what am I missing here?

Thanks for all you do

Gord

Q: Hi 5i
Not so much a question as a request for reassurance about the volatility of the previous week. I've been picking up additional shares of cgnx (and others across both US / Canada ) and could do with hearing that I haven't missed obvious signs that the world is ending !

I've taken for granted the volatility-free markets we've had for some time but remember past panics where I watched without participating in, with hindsight, so called bargains.

Thanks
Mike

Q: Hi 5i: I'm still on my quest to reduce the number of stocks in my RIF in the most defensive way possible. In my IT sector I hold:
AIF (or is that in Real Estate?); GIB.A; KXS;
FB; GOOG; RYT (ETF).
Could you suggest the best way to reduce this to 3, say? Any suggestions on how to proceed given the current sell-off? Thanks Roland

Q: I am trying to trim my portfolio from 38 equity holdings down to about 30. Largest # of holdings is in the Tech Sector which is 19% of my total portfolio. They are:
SYZ, OTEX, ENGH, DSG (held in my 'balanced' RRSP)
ABT, ET (held in my RIF for income)
ITC,PHO,SHOP (held in my TFSA for growth)

All are between 2% and 4% of my total portfolio with the exception of ET at 1.7% and ITC @ 0.7%

I would also like to purchase KXS !! I am turning myself into knots trying to decide what I should drop in order to buy it (if you think it would be beneficial ?) . Plus what other stocks could I sell/increase/purchase in order to trim the # of holdings and still have a robust tech portfolio.
Any suggestions would be appreciated... Thank goodness you are there as an experienced and wise sounding board !!

Q: Hi 5i: Why all the negative sentiment on Intrinsyc? Over the last several quarters revenues have grown quarter to quarter and Management has clearly stated that Q4 will have accelerated revenue growth. Based on what has been reported in 2017 and expected in Q4, revenues year-over-year should show good growth. Q3 was profitable and Q4 should be too. The Company has also said they have a record backlog which should bode well for 2018. I know the stock price has drifted but this could be an interesting entry point despite the Company's current market cap. Also the Company has a good cash position and no debt. What am I missing?

Q: Hi 5i Crew,

I am considering a entry position in CGI Group. I like the sector for future growth and am a believer that "buying at all time high" is a good strategy. My reservation is that it does not generate a dividend. I think if it did, 5i would be more favorable to the company (as I believe you are strong supporters of dividend stocks - for many good reasons). Question. Do you think CGI would consider initiating a dividend in the near term ?

Q: Hi 5i,
For an RSP focused on growth, which two would you pick for cybersecurity exposure? Or would you pick something else (other than an ETF)?
TIA
