Q: Hi 5i: I'm still on my quest to reduce the number of stocks in my RIF in the most defensive way possible. In my IT sector I hold:
AIF (or is that in Real Estate?); GIB.A; KXS;
FB; GOOG; RYT (ETF).
Could you suggest the best way to reduce this to 3, say? Any suggestions on how to proceed given the current sell-off? Thanks Roland

Q: This one has corrected quite a bit. Has your view changed, still a good buy ? Good growth expected ? Cheap on a p/e ratio basis.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Q: I am trying to trim my portfolio from 38 equity holdings down to about 30. Largest # of holdings is in the Tech Sector which is 19% of my total portfolio. They are:
SYZ, OTEX, ENGH, DSG (held in my 'balanced' RRSP)
ABT, ET (held in my RIF for income)
ITC,PHO,SHOP (held in my TFSA for growth)
All are between 2% and 4% of my total portfolio with the exception of ET at 1.7% and ITC @ 0.7%
I would also like to purchase KXS !! I am turning myself into knots trying to decide what I should drop in order to buy it (if you think it would be beneficial ?) . Plus what other stocks could I sell/increase/purchase in order to trim the # of holdings and still have a robust tech portfolio.
Any suggestions would be appreciated... Thank goodness you are there as an experienced and wise sounding board !!

Q: Hey guys great job. Could you rank these companies from best to least best for a long term hold in either an RRPS or TSFA 10 years + hold. If you had to pick one which would it be. Thanks and keep up the great work. KXS,CSU,OTEX,GIB.A (CGI Group 'A'),ABT (Absolute Software),CRM (Salesforce Com)
Q: I’m wondering why Qualcomm continues to fall even though the Broadcom offer has been raised. Is it because Investors don’t think the takeover will happen? Usually this kind of news would bring a stock up to the takeover price at least, no?
Q: Hi Peter, can you give an update on Tecsys. It has done well recently, but may be overpriced. What is the outlook for the next year or two. Thanks, Gerry
Q: Hi 5I,
Would like to find a technology etf for a long term hold that includes the likes of Apple, Amazon, Shopify, Google. and so on. What would you suggest?

Q: It seems XIT "Don't get no respect" from analysts, yet it has performed well over the past few years and smooths out the volatility in the sector. Oddly, XIT seems to do just as well as ZQQ. Where does 5i stand on this ETF?
Q: Hi 5i: Why all the negative sentiment on Intrinsyc? Over the last several quarters revenues have grown quarter to quarter and Management has clearly stated that Q4 will have accelerated revenue growth. Based on what has been reported in 2017 and expected in Q4, revenues year-over-year should show good growth. Q3 was profitable and Q4 should be too. The Company has also said they have a record backlog which should bode well for 2018. I know the stock price has drifted but this could be an interesting entry point despite the Company's current market cap. Also the Company has a good cash position and no debt. What am I missing?
Q: Do you have a replacement for Avigilon, a tech-oriented industrial, and one relatively volativity-resistant should there be a near-term correction.
Q: Hi 5i Crew,
I am considering a entry position in CGI Group. I like the sector for future growth and am a believer that "buying at all time high" is a good strategy. My reservation is that it does not generate a dividend. I think if it did, 5i would be more favorable to the company (as I believe you are strong supporters of dividend stocks - for many good reasons). Question. Do you think CGI would consider initiating a dividend in the near term ?

Q: Hi 5i,
For an RSP focused on growth, which two would you pick for cybersecurity exposure? Or would you pick something else (other than an ETF)?
TIA

Q: Good morning 5i,
Could you please discuss your thoughts on CGI short term (1-2 year) out look, as well as your opinion on todays quarterly results?
Thanks again!

Q: Lam Research seemed to report very good earnings today yet it was down 5% on the day. It seems to be very cheap when looking at PEG ratios and has a reasonably good balance sheet. Can you give me any insight as to what is going on here? Would you buy this stock today? Thanks.
Q: Good Morning 5I Team, Can you please tell me when is this Co going to declare their earnings, if yes, I would like to have your opinion and comments. Many thanks, Catherine
Q: Hi team,
I go to the U.S. mainly for tech stocks. I have FB, GOOG and SQ for some time now, happy with all. In Canada, I have KXS (thank you very much), BYL and OTEX (my perennial laggard that I still like).
There are many U.S. tech stocks on my watch list but I will ask about TTD, The Trade Desk. As I understand its model, it is into digital advertising by selling programming on a real-time electronic auction basis. TTD went public last year, had a strong run, faded back and seems to be acting better these days. I have seen positive comments on it on several U.S. business sites in the past month or so. One U.S. analyst (for what that’s worth) had it among his top ideas for 2018.
Your thoughts on this one?
Thanks again,
dave

Q: Hello Peter
What are your thoughts on Nomura Instinet analyst comment on CNBC about SQ Inc.
(Payment company Square is "analogous to Amazon or Google in their early days" but Wall Street is valuing the stock all wrong, according to Nomura Instinet)
Thank you always for your valuable advice.
Regards
Claudio
