Lyft and Uber will be going public soon, would you recommend purchasing shares after the IPO? Growth has been great for both companies but obviously they are losing a lot of money as they grow.
What is the general strategy for IPOs ie. Lightspeed POS? Should you typically wait for first qtr results before you buy? I considered stocks like FB, MongoDB and could have done quite well. Also I believe that employees have to hold shares for at least 6 mths (not sure of exact timeframe) before they sell so wondering if that would have an impact when insiders with a considerable number of shares are allowed to sell.
Q: Hello, A friend told me about this company that is moving well with the market. This is a new name to me. What do you think about this company in terms of financial situations such as, cash flow, debt levels, etc? From risk/reward considerations, for a medium risk investor, is it buyable at this level? Thanks. Lin
Q: I hold the following technology companies for a 31.66% weighting in my portfolio. I need to reduce this to a maximum weighting of 20%. Given the holdings are long term, and I wish a balance between stability and aggressive growth in this sector, which of the above companies would you cut down or eliminate to achieve this goal? Current individual weights are; CSU 4.88%, GOOGL 4.94%, AAPL 4.8%,GIB.A 3.2%, SHOP 2.57%, PHO 2.56%,MU 3.27%, NVDA 3.22%, KXS 2.21%.
Q: Hello Peter, Ryan and 5i Team:
Would you recommend to hang on to my half position in AAPL OR switch to one of the following: NVDA, XLNX or OLED for a 6-12 month hold? If the latter which one is your favourite given current market place environment and cap appreciation prospects?
Q: In a recent answer regarding lightspeed you said -
Of note, SHOP had a big drop when its lock-up period from its IPO expired and more shares were available to sell.
Do you know the date the lock-up period expires.
.?
Q: This new Horizons Industry 4.0 Index ETF addresses a sub-sector that intersects manufacturing and technology. While the MER is high and it is new ETF, the AUM is impressive over a short period. Would you advise for a long-term hold for growth?. Or, alternatives?
Q: What do you think of this company - just recently IPO'd. in Canada. Don't normally jump right in after an IPO - usually wait until it settles down - worked well for me on Shopify - I know these companies start trading on "potential" and not on "fundamentals" but just would like your opinion - you have given me a lot of good ideas over the years and I know that no one has a crystal ball but appreciate your expertise on smaller cap companies.
Q: Could you please rank these 4 stocks. Looking for growth and willing to hold for at least 5+years. This would be for a TFSA with a growth tilt to it. Do you see all these companies as a good investment? Thanks as always.
Q: 5i Please correct:
Not sure why you have a negative tone on ITC? You have misread the financial statements. Revenues and EBITDA are up in materially in 2018 and are also up in Q4 too! Also the write down on the Stream TV Investments has no impact on operations and Company indicated on the CC that may need to increase the value of Stream investment in the coming quarters.
Q: May I please have your latest view on GRUB? I note DoorDash has very recently surpassed it as the top on-demand food delivery service in terms of dollars spent, and its increase in share seems to have come almost entirely at GRUB's expense. I have only a very small position, made much smaller over the past few months. Time to move onto one of the many better (or better behaving!) opportunities out there?
