Q: I realize these are U.S. companies but the NVDA vs. AMD semi-conductor showdown is one of the most interesting investing tilts on offer right now. I have held NVDA for several years. It's my largest holding and I am up 325% on it. It has been a gusher. It has routinely whipped AMD like a pinata. But has the tide turned? NVDA is "only" up 26% this year and is getting thrashed today, post earnings, for having the temerity to only post substantial gains in 5 of its 6 lines of business. Meanwhile AMD has nearly doubled YTD and is now a Seeking Alpha darling. NVDA is clearly a remarkable company but the fastest jet stalls out at some point in a vertical climb. Is it time to sell some or all of my NVDA stake? Given its sky-high valuation do I crystalize profits and redeploy? What's your reading on these two competitors today?

Q: Good Morning;
Both companies appear to have been caught in recent Tech sector selloff. Both also continue to struggle to recover. Has anything changed in underlying fundamentals of either company that would cause concern or limit growth prospects going forward? In addition, was the market reaction extreme and would you expect a (partial) bounce back up or will both companies require some catalyst to maintain/gain growth and regain lost share value?
Thank you
Ian

Q: Hi team,
I notice you listed TTD as one of your top current U.S. buys in a recent Q&A and I saw it again in Peter’s column in the Financial Post. It seems like you have turned very positive on it. I have been in it for about 6 months but trimmed back before the last earnings which turned out to be a blowout quarter. You just never know with tech earnings. It is now around $125. I am thinking of topping up again.

In the past, you seemed concerned that one of the big U.S. tech guys could easily get into the digital programmatic advertising space where TTD operates. How come no on has and TDD continues to just sail along? Aren’t GOOG, FB, and others concerned about the inroads made by TTD? Could it be a buyout target of one of the big guys?

Thanks again,
dave

Q: I am holding 100 shares of Qcom and have been in the red for years... fortunately it pays a decent dividend... Do you feel that this stock will improve Following the upcoming Dutch Auction ? You have suggested this stock several times to your readers... You recommended holding out for a better price when there was an interested buyer...After several disappointments, do you feel the buyback is a good thing at this point ? ...or it just creating an event to raise its stock price ?

Q: I have a question about 461
I trimmed about 15% of my shares of NVDA today ahead of earnings mainly because I was up over 300% (thanks to 5i) and felt that expectations were so high that even with an earnings beat , shares may see some weakness. Can I please get your comments on their results and your opinion going forward? To me it looks like a solid beat but is it guidance that is resulting in a bit of a sell off after hours?
Thank you
