Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Hi 5i Team. I'm a new subscriber since not too long ago. I really like your service! I've been learning a lot here and how stocks are doing to better help my decisions on which stocks to invest in. I haven't been asking questions but have been reading a lot of them from others and find it great that the Q&A is made available to all subscribers. I'm glad I joined and now taking the leap asking some questions of my own now that I've built a little more confidence and knowledge about the stock market.

Here goes with my questions:

Can you comment on MU. Is this company still in good financial shape for growth and increasing revenues to support the increased stock price since last November? Or is there something that might affect its upcoming earnings announcement in March. It’s now hit a new high yesterday after a dip in January. Just wondering if you see or have heard of something up to now that might negatively affect its recent uptrend.

Thanks!
Sylvain

Q: Liking the semi conductor and related space, which of the companies listed would you suggest to hold for greatest growth over the next 3-6 months. Provide other companies names if you feel are better

Q: I have 3.5% if funds specifically earmarked for the technology sector after recently selling a position in OTEX. I am debating between taking a 3.5% position in CSU or splitting the funds and taking two smaller positions in STC and PHO. My portfolio consists mainly of larger market cap, lower volatility investments, so I feel I have some flexibility towards taking on a position in growth companies. That being said, I believe that CSU is best-in-class for its sector (particularly if limiting the field to TSX-traded companies). I would appreciate your insight. Thanks so much!

Q: I have been recently reading more about the SolarWinds hack and the desperate need for beefing up cyber security. I know CrowdStrike is one of your favourites and you have brought up the potential Arctic Wolf IPO. Just wondering if any other companies are interesting in the cyber security space.

Thanks for your great service.

Q: I know the orphan stock. Been burnt many times with this company. But now what do you think of their Esim technology which is touted as being huge to replace the traditional SIM cards?
For phones for cars, etc. The stock has moved up nicely but I always seem to get into this company at the right time it starts to go down again. They use to have lots of cash. Do they still?

Q: Hi team,
I currently have small positions in both OTEX and ENGH. I would like to add a position in either DSG or LSPD. Which do you think would be the better choice for a 3-5 year hold, looking for growth with some stability. If you could also provide the reasoning behind your choice and whether you would add to these at current levels or wait for a pull back I would appreciate it.

Regards,
Paula

Q: I have held Cisco for 5 years -up about 50% plus dividends. I am thinking about exiting it for a more interesting stable growth story in the hardware/software business. Qcom is one idea but would appreciate any other ideas or should i just hold on to Cisco for any future growth and the dividend?
thanks
Kevin

Q: Hello, your thoughts on participating in this IPO? Does their management and technology compare well to their competitors? In this sector, I only own XBC and have done very well, so I'd like to add another. Would this be a worthy addition for a quick pop or long-term hold? This would be less then 5% of my portfolio and I have a high risk tolerance. If not, what sector picks would you suggest. Much thx.
