Q: Hi 5i,

I know there are many takeover rumours in the market. On Monday, Seeking Alpha had an article on an unidentified suitor, likely a private equity firm, eyeing AYX. AYX has had several disappointing earnings releases. In your last comment a couple of weeks ago, you said it might be setting itself up as a target and is hard to stay committed here. I don’t understand that comment. AYX would not deliberately show poor results or poor guidance to get a lower market valuation would it? Also, would you call it a hold here, because of takeover speculation?

Thanks again.
Dave

Q: In your answer to Dan today, you rated the desirability of holding stock for a 5 year + period. You show NVEI and MAGT as 8 and KXS as 6. While all three are expected to show good year over year earnings growth the analysts high target price for KXS is $288, up 60% while the high for NVEI is $169, up 30%.
Just looking for your thoughts on what would suggest a higher rating for NVEI and MAGT.
Many thanks
Mike

Q: The landscape of tech stocks in Canada seems to be rapidly evolving, with several impressive IPO's of late, and some very strong growth stories emerging. In a well diversified portfolio, how would you rate the desirability of holding each of the following tech stocks on a scale of one to ten, with 10 being a must own, 1 being a definite "no", and 5 being something OK, but nothing special. 5+ year holding period.

CSU, CTS, DND, DSG, ENGH, KXS, LSPD, MAGT, NVEI, OTEX, TIXT, TOI

Q: IRBT got smashed by the market after their earnings on July 28th. They are now trading below their 200 day moving average. From my read of the earnings transcript, things on the top line are going very well, and the earnings disapointment is directly attributable to a shortage in semiconductors, getting caught in the US tariffs on Chinese goods (which they claim will change in the back half of 2021), and supply chain issues. But demand for their products seems to outstrip supply by a wide margin.

My questions: do you think IRBT is a good long term buy right now, or could it drift lower? Are hedgies selling? Is the short interest still high relative the past? Are they making progress with their strategy to switch to recurring revenue? What does the competitive landscape look like?

Thanks
