Q: Hi,
So at this point do we just assume SNAP is technically 'broken' for now? Better to salvage some capital and move on to a better opportunity? My guess is this earnings miss and selling on heavy volume would indicate a long road ahead to repair the current technical damage - but I would appreciate your thoughts on whether to hold or sell SNAP.
Thanks!
Dawn

Q: Good morning!

I hold a 1/2 position in Magna. I do believe in this stock longterm. With the shortages and things appearing to be priced in. Is it time to top up to a full position?

On a separate question what are your highest conviction growth pics in TECH for the 4Q.
Preferably US but can spribkle some Canadian names as well.

Thank you for the amazing input and service. It's been immeasurable.

Q: Hi 5i,
Back to PINS and PYPL again. Given SNAP’s lower earnings and Apple’s new privacy settings making it more difficult for advertisers on SNAP, would you expect PINS’ upcoming earnings to show a similar problem? If so, would PYPL have signed some form of NDA with PINS so that they would have knowledge of PINS’ upcoming earnings and any Apple privacy impacts?
Thanks again.

Q: I have had very good returns with both and would like to take some profits off both and buy either tropicus or one semi- conductor position. Which semiconductor stock would you suggest? For 3/5 years. Thank you!

Q: Hi 5i Team - Are there any Canadian companies in the semi-conductor space that would be of interest to you, including start-up companies, suppliers of materials, and any potential companies on the horizon. I sold my shares in Photon Control some time ago and am looking for some kind of replacement on the Canadian side. If the U.S. is the only way to go in this field could you please suggest a couple of top picks. l already have Nvidia. Thanks.

Q: Hi 5iTeam,

I realize that it was up a lot earlier this year - unfortunately I bought it after that ride was over. Do you have any thoughts as to why it hasn't been performing since June even on good days in the market? It also seems to be a low vol stock without much interest. I am waiting to see what happens on their earnings but I fear that the results may lead to a further dump. Thank you for your time and comments as always.

Q: Hi 5i,
What are your thoughts on the rumoured, from several sources, PYPL bid for PINS at around $70 a share? It seems like a lowball bid. Not much of a premium and not even close to taking out the yearly high of PINS. On what metric would you evaluate this bid and how does it compare to peer group acquisitions in the past couple of years? How do you see this playing out in the market? Other potential bidders?
Thanks again.

Q: Hi Peter,

I have been waiting on the sidelines to buy into the October volatility as we go into the end of the year seasonal strength. What would your sector preference and ranking be between industrials /materials/technology?
In the meantime tech has almost recouped its losses.
I have been dithering between AMD and MRVL and both have gone up nicely. Would you suggest I buy now (and which); or wait for a pullback end of month? I do have NVDA and QCOM, am a growth investor and any suggestions if I should keep QCOM or migrate to one or both of the two mentioned above ?
Thank you in advance for your opinion.
Regards
Rajiv

Q: Hello, I bought ABST around March this year when it was around $18.35. Now it is down around 23%. I am considering selling it, and taking the loss. Then transfer the money to a US trading account and putting the money into either UPST or SOFI. I am thinking these have better growth potential over. Do you concur? Which between UPST or SOFI has the most upside?
