Q: My question is general in nature though uses phm as an example. PHM recently announced two LOI. The purchase price will be cash and PHM shares (in one case some 7 million shares). My question is, when a company purchases another in this way, where do the shares come from? Also, would this type of purchase tend to put a lid on price appreciation as the purchase shares hit the market? Thanks as always and best for the new year.

Q: I've been searching for relatively cheap canadian pharma stocks that have postive cashflow and earnings growth. I recently came across CRH Medical, a recent recommendation of J.Donville. After accounting for the recent aquisition (trailing earning, some dilution, and debt), to me, it still appears quite cheap relative to the sector. I realize there is some execution risk, and now a fair bit of debt, but it seems reasonable. How do you assess this company and compare it to other small/growthy names in the sector? I currently have a half position in CRH and I am thinking about doubling down. I also own PHM and CPH in the sector but they don't look as cheap anymore. Thanks.
Q: Peter and team,

Q: Hello team,
Do you have any comments on today's news wire release on the execution of a letter of intent to acquire a regional business. This is the first time I have heard of this term...it is non-binding and the subject company's financials are unaudited - and yet is sounds like a done deal. Also the news wire release is not for distribution in the U.S. as per the preamble. Should this have an impact on the stock price at present? Thanks

Q: You have not been asked about IVW for some time. It has done nothing for years and now at $0.05 it seems to be at a multi-year low. Provided it can survive until economies around the world begin to pick up, it may be a good "bottom fishing" opportunity. Do you have a current view on this Company?

Q: I have been watching this company with a view of share purchase because I think that animal feed is a pretty high need product and not a lot of competition. I worry that the stock trades very little, i.e. quite illiquid. Is illiquity something to be very concerned about, and if so why?. What is 5i's view of the company especially in difficult times which seems to be what is ahead of us. Thanks so much

Q: NLN seems to be breaking above a trading range that has existed since the spring. Technically the stock looks fine to buy but have fundamentals changed sufficently that you are more comfortable with it?

Q: Hi there,
I have been following this stock for a bit but am struggling to figure out what is unique about their offering versus all the other payment processors out there. Can you provide some insight. Revenues are certainly growing but this seems to be a crowded field these days - what is their competitive advantage that would interest a long term investor?
Thanks and Happy New Year

Q: Hi - this stock has been crushed, as its western Cdn focus seems to have been the culprit? What is your opinion now that its down 50% from its high?
Q: I own Cipher, it seems to be firing on all cyclnders except today, I was planning on holding for at least a year or forever, assuming nothing untoward happens. My question is should I buy more at this time or perhaps put some money in RX which also seems to have a great roe and is also going strong. What would you advise. Thanks very much and Wishing you all a Very Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year.

Q: Adding up a comment to Lionel's question on Tucows dec-24. Tucows trade a fair volume on nasdaq TCX. They have initiated several dutch auctions in the last few years. In addition to their internet domaines activities They are the owner of a growing mobile telephony service in USA : TING. I think that it is where the marbles are.
Happy New Year.

Q: Hi 5i team,
I would like to have your thoughts on ZCL, and an estimation of what would be your rating. Balance sheet is clean (no leverage, little other items on the asset side). Dividend is growing. Past management problems integrating acquisition seems no longer an issue. Insiders bought shares in late November. On the minus side: revenue growth has been variable, profit margins are close to their historical high, exposure to the oil industry.
Has ZCL stock price been hit too hard recently? What P/E multiple or P/CF should it trade at in the current environment? What could be a future catalyst (developing new geographical markets, acquisition)? Where would you classify ZCL: industrial or energy? Should it be a long term investment or a cyclical investment based on the economy? What is your view on this industry, and the position of ZCL in it?
Thank you for your help, Eric
