Q: I like the long term potential within the Uranium sector for future electricity generation. I'm looking to invest in the sector for the long term ( at least 5 yrs +) as I believe there is a forecasted supply shortfall emerging between 2018-2020 that could last many years. BAN looks interesting but at $0.03/share also looks very risky with about $8 mill in debt. I'm also looking at Denison and UEX with no debt. Is BAN a survivor for the next upcycle? What do you think of a basket of these juniors?
Thank-you.
Q: UrtheCast Corp released their third quarter results this week. Would you please provide your comments. Did the meet expectations and would you recommend continuing to hold this stock? Thanks
Trying to get a handle on Merus. I bought a full position @ $1.94 in Jan 2015. Sold 50% at $3.26 in July. Today it is trading @ $1.55.
The street sentiments appear to be fluctuating quite a bit... Early Oct it carried a Strong Buy recommendation from multiple sources with target prices ranging between $3.25 & $4.25. 3 weeks later Mackie & Scotia reduced their targets from $4.25 - $2.70.
Are you able to shed any light on MSL and what we could expect moving forward?
Q: Hi Team,
I decided to take on a position in Input Capital today with the recent pullback. Do you think this is a good entry point? The company cancelled 3 contracts in their latest news release.
I took a look at the recent reporting as of Nov 5. From what I can tell, poor crop expectations, resource prices and related uncertainty, regional economic uncertainty surrounding oil prices, which primarily impacted new equipment demand in the Alberta construction market, the increased Canadian dollar cost of new equipment due to appreciation in the US dollar are all creating a significant head winds for CVL.
I am in at $24.20 (4% position)
From what i can see my options are to cut the loses and put this capital to work elsewhere or, hang tough and wait it out.
my questions...
Would you advise I move or hang tough?
ps... dividend is very good... do you think it is safe?
Q: May I have your assessment of Stingray's latest quarterly results. Do you see this company as suitable for a small position in a growth portfolio?
Thanks, Tim.
Q: Would you ascribe the significant recent weakness in SCL primarily to company fundamentals or to tax-loss selling? In other words, would this be a good entry point for a speculative position?
Q: I would like to add international stocks to my portfolio for diversity. My current mix is 90% Canadian stocks and 10% US. I know I should not be so heavily weighted towards Canada therefore I am considering 50% Canada, 30% US and 20% International. Many of my Canadian companies have US and global business. My US exposure is through two low cost ETFs with Vanguard, namely VFV and VUN. Although VFV is comprised of US companies, more than half of those companies have international exposure. Although I am hesitant to buy mutual funds because of their high fees, I note that Mawer funds have lower fees than others plus their performance is much better than passive ETFs. I would appreciate your comments on my goals for diversification, and any other mutual fund companies or actively managed ETFs that you would recommend for international exposure.
Q: Attended a company presentation the other day and the growth potential of this lithium company in Quebec seems quite amazing. The amount of lithium that will be required verses the available secure supply is quite astonishing. Can you give us your take on the lithium market and the status of this co.?
Q: Peter & Team. Would you take a 40%+ profit on NFI following the jump today on news of the acquisition of MCI? I must say this looks like a stunning deal for NFI. In its own back yard (Winnipeg), MCI is complementary, immediately accretive and at 6X EBITDA, cheap - and a nice dividend increase too!!. But the low ROI in NFI has also been less attractive on what I regards as the Tesla of the commuter bus industry. Would you sell on this good news?
Q: They just issued their 3rd q results. I am not very good at determining if this is still undervalued. The results did not blow me away but they did increase the dividend by 10%. They are not in a growth industry however I thought Davis +Henderson was not either yet that stock has done well, long term. Your views of evaluation of SXP would be appreciated.
