Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I have held these for quite awhile and I try to be a patient investor but it is challenging. Do you see any catalysts in the 1 to 2 years that might move these stocks significantly higher? The small cap. sector seems to be gaining some interest so I thought these might ride along. thanks

Q: TVK has been on quite a run for the past year or so including a large bump after it's most recent M&A announcement.

Do you think investors should wait for a pull back or continue to consolidate a position and if so, what is a good point to continue buying?

I've missed the boat on HPS.A many times by waiting for the perfect moment so I feel TVK may be on a similar trajectory albeit at lower rates of growth most likely.

Thoughts on TVK and entry points etc?

Q: Thank You for your quick response. In my own little world, I continue to believe that DYA has a great concept. I just can’t understand why the product cannot be designed and manufactured to meet customer/market expectations! At a time when gas and diesel prices are at ‘all time highs’ and the introduction of this product is supposed to reduce fuel consumption to allow companies to save enough in a 12 month period to pay for the purchase…it’s just not registering with me why there’s such a struggle to sell the product! In saying the above, and with so many businesses/investors who could do ‘so much’ with a product like this, do you feel it could possibly be bought or taken over in the coming months? Thank you again.

Q: Hi there, I am down 40-80% on BTO, CGX, and WELL (as well as Andrew Peller, which I already know to sell based on your dropping coverage). I am wondering if there is any point on still holding these stocks, or if I should just sell them so I can put the remaining money somewhere else?
Thank you!

Q: Recent quarterly results are ‘just not pretty!’ I really had hope for this Company, especially when it attracted the interest of Eric Sprott. There appears to be so, so many misleading statements; so many empty promises! No sales, I mean NO sales in a quarter! Is there something I’m missing or does there seem to be some suspicious activities with this company? Would really appreciate an updated analysis of where you see things going with this struggling company! Thanks in advance for your usual great service. Stan.

Q: Hi Team,
I am debating initiating a position in CTS (Converge). How much confidence do you have in the name? Do you see them being extremely successful in a 10yr time frame? If so; I need to raise funds to buy the name hence trim one or a combination of names. Which of the following would you suggest trimming (or combination of) in order to buy CTS: Well, ATS, TTD,META, CRM. I would only be interested in trimming names in which you think CTS has more potential for SP appreciation. Thanks!

Q: I am sitting on some of this at a higher ACB and have had it for some time. I like the income, but the price has been in a decline. The culprit high interest rates with them being heavily leveraged, looks like they aren't growing enough to overcome. Looks like they will not be increasing the dividend this year which is not a good sign given their history. I do have patience and some cash. I also think they have a solid tenant base, the business seems to make sense. Would you buy down hanging on hope of interest rate cuts or would you dump and look at another name?
