Q: Intertain is in your growth portfolio, peter was on bnn at beginning of june and had it as a top pick, it has gone straight down since, which to me is a warning sign, i get it that it is cheap but amaya has hung in extremely well but intertain has not, could you comment. Daves
Can you give me your thoughts on TNC's results, released this morning? Revenue up marginally, but some decent margin expansion. Any red flags (or even yellow flags), in your view?
Q: At has been written that DHR International could be mounting a takeover bid on Caldwell Partners. What would be a fair price for Caldwell's stock given their revenues in last 12 months exceed $50 million, they have lots of cash on hand with only about 21 million shares out?
Q: Could there be a takeover in progress from unknown parties on Caldwell given the price rise and statement from management of no known cause to price/volume spike?
Thanks!
Rob
I'm wondering if you see anything positive in the company's future. It looks bleak to say the least but I keep thinking about all the cobalt reserves and companies like Tesla needing a whole lot of it in the upcoming years. Thank you
Q: Espial's acquisition of Bluestreak looks like a perfect fit not only to expand its offerings and market, but to allow it to bulk up with the technical resources to deliver on its contracts to its Tier 1 (and other) customers. In short, the message to the industry is that the previous commitments by Espial have been de-risked considerably and ESP is now open to taking on more challenges. Your thoughts?
Q: I am wondering what you think of the news today on Tweed's acquisition of Bedrocan? Also, what do you know about the management of Tweed and are they making profits or just revenue at this point?
When you last referenced VGO in late May the comment was it was high risk, good potential with a high valuation given limited earnings. With it selling off below $2/share is it something you would start to see as being worth a small position for someone willing to accept risk?
Secondly, is there significant risk of concept failure here (ie it goes to zero) or is the greater risk slow progression and the need for patience before things move ahead?
A colleague of mine recently rented an RV through CanaDream and loved the experience. He mentioned they were public, so I did a bit of work and found that the company is quite cheap given it's relatively stable earnings (annual basis) and consistent growth. Can you give it a quick look and let me know if you see any red flags? I'm thinking of making it a 2-3% position.
