Q: Hi Peter and team, I was sent a link to a radio interview with the CEO of Dynacert, the interviewer was Jay Taylor who has a weekly radio show on the Voice America business channel.
What is your view on DYA? The story sounded compelling and market has been pushing this stock up. Also, is Jay Taylor a credible journalist or is he more of a stock promoter?

Q: Hi Peter....all the very best in the New Year.
Do you think this stock will ever trade again? ha. I have not seen a stock halted this long before, usually it is a matter of hours. What do you think could be the problem and if the deal does go thru do you think it will be beneficial to bkd?
Thanks and cheers,
Bruce.

Q: nhc. is this an ok entry point? is management just ok or very poor. Would the new board members be better than the old ones? the lumpy earnings are not convenient to investors ,with nhc making acquisitions and having their best quarters at certain times of the year. in your opinion do the shorts and or Craig Hellum ($2 target) correct in their (dislike) of the company .thank you!2

Q: I am looking to make an investment in a company that produces rare earth metals. What would you consider the best TSX listed companies in this sector. Do you think any potential trade conflict between Trump and China could have an effect on the rare earth metals market. Thanks

Q: Hi team, I've owned 1000 shares of PDN from 2007, my break even cost is 1.95 if I buy 4000 more today it would drop to .44 cents. I would do this only with the hope of a takeover, firstly, would this be possible considering its debt. I know you are not big fans of this, but what are your thoughts it's .04% of my portfolio. Thanks, and all the best for the New Year, Nick

Q: I have the listed companies in my TFSA($60k). I haven't been too concerned with portfolio weightings due to the portfolio size and have let the winners run. As a result close to 50% of the portfolio is held in just 2 stocks (CCL.B and CRH) I have nice gains in the others except DBOX and SYLOGIST which are both flat and I have considered switching out. Two questions I have are 1. Do you think it is a prudent strategy to stay this course or would you rebalance keeping in mind these weightings are not that out of whack when you consider my other portfolios? 2. What name(s) would you consider adding to this mix for my 2017 contribution of $5500.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to the entire 5i staff for your outstanding service.

Q: Hello 5i,

I'm considering PLS for my TFSA as I have no materials exposure. Currently holding Boyd, Enghouse, Spin Master, Premium Brands. I know this is speculative, but in light of potential infrastructure spend in the U.S., possible lower CAD and a stock that seems oversold, in your opinion is it worth the investment or would you have a better recommendation.

Thanks

Q: Peter and team

I am looking to add some growth potential (along with acknowledged risk) to an otherwise fairly balanced portfolio.
Sector allocation aside, could you please comment on CRH, ITC, and PHO with regard to current valuation, potential growth, risk, and order of preference in the current market.

Thank you for a great service.

Phil
