Q: I like the price chart for Brick Brewing (as well as their products :). Their stock took a 6% hit today on medium volume - can you tell me why?

Looking at their price chart for the last 6 months I see a lot of similar "down" days, which are usually followed by a quick recovery within a few days. What is going on here?

The stock has had a nice runup over the last 12 months - up about 80% at present. Do you see this stock as a Buy, Sell, or Hold, and over what timeframe?

Thank you!

Q: I read thru the MD&A this morning and what I THINK I see is an albeit very small company that now has competent management (Eli Dadouch of Firm Capital basically booted the previous idiot out) with high insider ownership (30%) and a turnaround that, while far short of complete is definitely in effect. Your thoughts on this impression and more importantly your estimate of the simple NAV of the company? I see about $76 mill assets minus about $51 mill liabilities for a NAV of about $25 mill against a market cap of about $10 mill. Many thx!

Q: Hi, can you please go over PHO QR...I could be very much wrong but as I go over the release I get the feeling that it is turning into an Avigilon type of story with increased spending on facility and development, management turnover, lower margins and excuses for lower sales. I see both potential and opportunity cost.

I do not have a large position and am unsure if this is worth the headache. I could deploy the money into something better such as new growth portfolio position possibly next week!? Thanks!

Q: Memex Inc., OEE, is a small company that looks like it has a chance to grab a share of the Internet of Things platform for industries. Their web page lists interesting case studies with real corporations accompanied by many credible customer testimonials. It seems very risky and currently suitable only for mad money but it is one that might be worth keeping an eye on. No dividend but could be a growth story. Would be interested in your thoughts. Thanks, Phil PS Sorry, for all the repeats.

Q: Just a follow up comment to your reply. If you think autonomous driving is going to be high growth then you may want to consider International Road Dynamics IRD, on tsx. I know they are tiny but they are seeing an acceleration ( pun intended) of business from public and private concerns. Autonomous driving needs lots of data, monitoring and infrastructure and IRD supplies those products. Recurring revenues as a percentage of business is growing.
