Q: Recently I asked a question about Crius "Where are the earnings?"
You replied on April 19th that "Crius made 44 million last year." I had hoped for something more detailed but I obviously should have asked a more detailed question.
To that end, Crius lost 74.9 million the year before (2015) although part of it was one time. If you combined the two years, the payout is hardly 60% of earnings.
My questions are:
1) Has Crius had positive earnings in years prior to 2016? I understand it's a relatively new company and a series of losses aren't that unusual.
2) I feel that you think Crius has turned a corner at this point and 2016 will be more typical than 2015. If so, could you explain your reasoning. I'm considering an investment.
Q: Peter: ARZ has gone through a significant drop over the last few months. On the RBC website Morningstar has it as "undervalued". What is your view for the future of this stock?
Have a great day... Joe Zadel
Q: Peter, in the past you've indicated that you want to like this stock more. It's finally moved over this past half year, or so, as it's finally getting noticed again.
Can you get past the fees, etc., which you've objected to previously? To me, the fees are relatively modest, considering the discount to NAV, private holdings, astute management, overall long term decisions made by the company, etc.
They have a good sized stake in Real Matters, which will have its IPO in early May.
And, would you consider it ever for a spot in one of your coveted portfolios?
Q: Can you give an update on D-box, they seem to be on a downward spiral. How much of their business is reliant on movie goers, and are their industrial applications not making any advances( no news). Also what was the reason for their big drop in Feb. of this year and what is a reasonable time frame to wait for some upward growth. Thank you.
I'm now looking for a little torc in my dividend portfolio. Could you recommend 4 or 5 names of good dividend stocks where one might expect higher than average growth over the next 3 years. Sectors not important.
Q: Hi,
I would like your thoughts on these 2 companies, StorageVaultCanada Inc. SVI.V & Park Lawn Corp. PLC.TO.
It would be a small % in our portfolio.
The current price for : SVI.V $2.33 & PLC.TO $18.45 Are they worth buying at this price? if not what will be their entry price.
Thanks,
Rosina
I'm curious to know what names get you really excited nowadays. Are there any comapnies that you see really moving in the next 12-24 months? I'm looking for places to move the more speculative portion of my portfolio (~10%).
Q: I currently have 1/2 positions in MSL,CPH and SVC. MSL and CPH look like dead money with not a lot of growth potential going forward. SVC looks okay. I'm looking to enter a full position with PHO using proceeds from the sale of MSL and CPH (I would keep SVC for now and monitor). For heath care representation in my portfolio, I have a full position in GUD already (thanks 5i)! For a growth oriented portfolio, will this be a good move 3-5 years out? What do you consider an attractive entry point for PHO?
