Q: Can you please provide your opinion on a long term hold of Hamilton Thorne ($HTL.v) from this level? Currently the company includes the original IVF equipment business, toxicity testing business, and a European full service distribution business.

The company has telegraphed its intention to continue growth by the following:

1. Making meaningful acquisitions with active discussions underway;

2. Organic growth by expanding into new geographies and expanding the breadth of product and service offerings from both internal R&D and adding new 3rd party suppliers on the global platform; and

3. Cross selling between all of the integrated businesses.

It is also at the ~$100M market cap (fully diluted) where both new institutional and retail investors alike will start to take notice.

TIA,
Meredith

Q: Please comment on the dividend. My online broker reports 8% yield, you report 3.5%. I guess the broker is including a special dividend. If possible, please share the regular and special dividends of the past 3 years, and share your view on the future dividend prospects. Thanks for your invaluable service. Frank

Q: My question is on diversification for my kids. With smaller amounts of money I find it a struggle. My daughters are 4 and 6. In one RESP there is 155 shares of DR. In the other RESP there is 155 shares of CRT.UN I also have a TFSA account where I keep there money from birthdays Christmas etc. There they have 543 shares of DIV and 90 shares of KWH.UN Cash for them is starting to add up again for them. Thinking very long term do I add a new position for them or sell all and start fresh? What do you recommend?

Thanks Jimmy

Q: Patrick Horan was on BNN yesterday morning. He indicated that he had done considerable DD when deciding whether or not to participate in the IPO. Recognizing that the retail sector is tough these days, his conclusion was that $12 was too expensive, however, if it subsequently dropped to $10, he would be much more interested as there certainly is value at this price. Your thoughts?
