Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
I realize this is a speculative stock. Please just give me your best speculative answer. I own it and not sure to hold for another few quarters or just move on! I would be upset if it crashed. Thanks...your opinions are always helpful!
Q: Wonderfi seems to have struggled even as Cryto activity and prices have risen.
Currently share price is back near its 52 week low so whatever they are doing seems not to be working even though crypto itself over the past months has risen.
If their revenue is generated merely as a function of AUM shouldn't the higher crypto price have led to better Profitability and going forward with crypto seemingly being accepted, alto not necessary endorsed, would you see any liklihood of another financial institution buying them to participate in the crpto market on an arms length basis?
Could any of the lack of performance relate to share dilution and lastly at this level could its current price justify a small investment?
Q: Hi team,
Is the 10% drop in PRL shares a buying opp today? As usual in the market these drops make little sense mathematically speaking the offer of 100 million in shares on a company with over 1 billion market cap should theoretically not drop all the way back to offer price . Same thing happened to HPS a couple days ago. If the deal was good; which no reason to doubt it won’t be if you trust the company , then it seems like a gift to buy shares in the dip on days like today. Or what am I missing here ?
Q: Is there any recent news on this stock? Do you have an opinion on the future here. Is there technology approved/confirmed? Are we at the marketing / contract stage of growth? Have had some nice price appreciation in some other small cap Canadian companies lately. (PNG, ZDC AEP) Do you feel this company is ready?
Again Thanks for your help
Terry
Q: Propel just dropped about 10% after announcing an acquisition of Stagemount, despite saying the acquisition would be accretive in 2024 and 2025. What do you think of this acquisition? Is there something I am missing?
Q: Can you comment on the recent announcement with DoorDash? Any reason(s) that you are aware of? Your thoughts going forward - is there hope or should one sell and walk away?
Do you think that the Growth Portfolio is poised to outperform the balanced portfolio moving forward? You've mentioned in other threads that small caps have underperformed in the past 5 years; is that compared to large caps, or is that compared to an index?
Also, when comparing both portfolios to American ETFs such as VFV, they both seem to underperform. Which portfolio would you recommend for a long-term 40-year hold in a TFSA to maximize returns? Or would you recommend a different investment into an American fund to maximize returns over that same time horizon?
I like the strategy of investing in small-cap stocks for higher growth but also don't want to disregard the balanced portfolio if you believe that small-caps will continue to underperform moving forward.
