Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: The share price seems to have stabilized in the .70-.75 range for 2021. Do you see any long term growth prospect with Lucara? The last couple quarters have not been blow-outs, but have been positive overall. They have been investing in existing operations and increasing capacity, plus finding alternate ways to distribute carats. Are diamond sales expected to increase as the world returns to normal or are they projected to stay relatively flat? Would this be considered a buy/hold/sell at this point?

Q: IRBT got smashed by the market after their earnings on July 28th. They are now trading below their 200 day moving average. From my read of the earnings transcript, things on the top line are going very well, and the earnings disapointment is directly attributable to a shortage in semiconductors, getting caught in the US tariffs on Chinese goods (which they claim will change in the back half of 2021), and supply chain issues. But demand for their products seems to outstrip supply by a wide margin.

My questions: do you think IRBT is a good long term buy right now, or could it drift lower? Are hedgies selling? Is the short interest still high relative the past? Are they making progress with their strategy to switch to recurring revenue? What does the competitive landscape look like?

Thanks

T

Q: Q2 report did not look stellar IMO, what are your thoughts. The acquisition is interesting, but seems like a bit of a reach and that they have given up some future profit with a Commission based sign-up for the Co-Ops that they purchased the company from. What do you think the largest concern is that is causing the fire sale today.
