Q: I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on this one to realize a substantial loss in my trading account. I also hold a position in my tsfa account and plan on riding this into 2023.
Your thoughts regarding taking the tax loss position at this time.
Thanks
Rick
Q: Peter; Just a question - is the announcement yesterday re the strategic review considered a “ material event”? I happened to see an insider bought 40,000 shares yesterday . Thanks
Rod
Q: You mentioned in a recent answer that you did not like the price action on CTS. Does the strategic review change anything ? I am up about 10% on my holdings (recent purchase) and happy to cash out and take the money and run ...it's been a brutal year !!!! My cost base is $ 4.45 and shares are now at $ 4.91. Or would you recommend holding until we get more clarity into the review ??
Q: Hi 5i, only one question ever on VBNK (note new ticker - your system says VB) and it's an old one. I bought years ago, sold 25% at over 100% profit, failed to sell more, watched it descend, now just doubled down. I'm not trained in finance but to me the income statement over 4 years is good (though some expenses up), balance sheet is good to strong, cash flow good but two indicators (investing cash flow and financing cash flow) are negative, and operating cash flow has slowed (down 50% over 4 years). Nicely profitable, low debt, good business model, expanding into US (hopefully a good thing!), what's not to like?
Q: During your recent market report you state: For investors with a long-term horizon, small-caps and mid-caps are presenting investors with a roughly once-in-a-decade opportunity. So what would be your highest conviction names in Canada to add positions?
Q: What are your views on the latest earning results for Polaris Renewable Energy and its future growth? The share price has been dropping after a nice run-up. Would you rate it a hold/buy/sell? Thanks
Q: Badger announced the CFO leaving the organization; this resignation is in addition to several directors of finance & controllers along with the prior CEO. Should inventors be concerned with any financial risk? Maybe the FTX debacle is a reminder how important financial controls are within a company.
Q: There has been recent insider buying and alot previously at a higher price. Also they are buying back shares. Are these two reasons good enough to buy shares with some comfort.
Q: I tried to apply Chris White's 5 factors to PET however impossible as only been public for less that 1.5 years. That said, does 5i have an opinion on how investable PET is at this point? Personally I think with the PE of 25, increasing revenue and earnings (albeit short period), and a narrative that I think makes sense, I feel that it should have a bright future as I see a lot of stores going up.
Q: Your data on Evertz is not up to date - a dividend of $0.18 per share was paid on 29 September 2022 .
Evertz reports on 6 December . What are the expectations for sales and earnings ? Any hope of a special dividend ?
Q: Could I have an update on Propel Holdings, how do the numbers look in the Q3 release. Looks like good growth but is this still too small and too risky? Or is this a company doing all the right things... are there any comparisons / metrics to GSY that maybe helpful. Valuation?
