Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Hello 5i
One of the advantages a small investor may have is access to buying small companies where Institutional Investors would not be able to buy a meaningful position. Easy to say that Source Rock Royalties is a tiny company at $40 MM.

As they have been operating since 2013 (public since March 2022) with a successful dividend + Growth Model and never a negative cashflow quarter, would you consider this one a decent play for Royalty Income. The Dividend yield is high (9%) with low payout ratio (60%) and cash on the books ...... so it appears the business and income stream are sustainable.

With a quick review of their financials and business model, do you see anything that would be of concern for an investor looking to take up a position to enhance Portfolio income?

I did notice the prior two Q&A.
Thanks

Q: Hello 5i
Since last earnings and most recent Q&A in 5i (Nov 7) this share price has been falling.

Is the price action related to the previous earnings miss or earnings growth expectations changing due to business or Tariff concerns?

With a 5 year view on this name, does one just continue to hold through the downside volatility with anticipation for better future earnings and share price?

Thank

Q: A good portion of my smaller cap portfolio weighting is in these 4 stocks. They seem reasonably diverse sector wise but the first three have been trending down for 3 months or more, and EIF seems to be now following suit. From a lot of recent commentary I was thinking small and mid-cap names might have a bit of a tail wind, at least on a valuation basis. I know I shouldn’t focus on 3-6 months but still a bit “vexing” watching them slide. I’ve read the recent q&a on all of them, don’t see any alarming comments really, any new concerns I’m missing?

Q: TIXT continues to drop (today down around 10%) with no news that I can find. Are you aware of any reason for the significant drop? Also, what is your take on how the senior executive team at Telus could have got this so wrong?

Q: Today INMD released another negative update for their upcoming earning release. Rev's dropped again, and they've lowered guidance again. They say due to stronger than expected head winds, again. I know the margins are strong, and they have a ton of cash, but the business keeps declining. Would you consider this one a hold to see if they turn things around or is it time to exit? Thx

Q: Hi again. This is the question I tried asking last night and kept receiving a note for a Server Error.
I added in my contribution to my TFSA yesterday. I was thinking of adding in.a new position in ZDC or topping up 2 of the other names. If you suggest adding to 2 of the above, what would your 2 top choices be and why?
Thanks David.

Q: Hi, I live in BC where the above companies were just awarded 3 wind projects each totaling about 550MW with 30 year electricity purchase agreements from BC Hydro. (First Nations will have at least 51% ownership of the projects.) Both companies pay a good dividend, but seem to have seen better days. I am just wondering whether you answer questions about companies this small and if so what do you think of their current state of affairs and prospects for the future?
