Q: Cemetrix is a small Cdn. Co. with a unique concrete product. It fits in well with infrastructure upgrades. They have good future contracts and I have been slowly building a position. Now they have issued a "bought deal" private placement financing of 7,778,000 units (the "Units") of the Company at a price of $0.45 per Unit (the "Issue Price") for aggregate gross proceeds to the Company of $3,500,100 (the "Offering"). The Units will be issued under Part 5A (the "Listed Issuer Financing Exemption") of National Instrument 45-106 - Prospectus Exemptions ("NI 45-106").
The shares dropped like a stone. Your thoughts please on this Company going forward.
Regards Gordo

Q: Hi, The stock has been on a precipitous decline, almost every single day( Down over 35%, from post earnings high ) and can's seem to find a floor. The earnings were considered to be spectacular, but what spooked the market, perhaps was the owners' sale of 2.8 mln shares @ $17.31, being 8.5% below the prevailing market price, causing a surge of sellers and profit takers.

Most of the infrastructure/steel fabricators companies stocks are doing excellent, but DRX happens to be an outlier. Should this be a red flag and a concern ?

5i recently bumped the stock weight in the Growth Portfolio to 2.5%, which speaks of your conviction.

Do you see the market sentiment shifting and stock trading back to its recent high, any time soon?

Thank You

Q: Hi,

Your faith in resurgence of Small caps seem to be paying off! IWM is on a tear, eh?! However an article in Barron's seem to suggest that it is bit early to dive into Small caps!

Having said that, can you suggest some LOW COST Small cap ETFs both in the US and the rest of the world. If you want to give some for growth and some for value, it will be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Q: I’m looking to replicate IWM and IWO with US growth companies but with a Canadian registered ETF. Any suggestions or is that not a possibility.
Thank you

Q: Hi, US Small caps are finally showing some love, with IWM - Russell 2000, up more than 10%, in past 4 days, after trading sideways for over 2 years. Experts seem to be watching this move with great interest, due its significance, pointing to expanding breadth of the market beyond a handful of Technology mega cap stocks.

My question is about the Small cap sector in TSX, which still seems to be lagging its US peers, except some strength in the materials. Is this normal, historically? What could be the reasons for this divergence and do you see this gap narrowing, in the near term ?

Your perspective would be really helpful as many of us follow your advice and Model Portfolios. Small Caps are your expertise, without doubt and you ( Peter, Ryan and Team ) are regarded as one of the Best Portfolio Managers in US and Canadian stocks.

Thank You

Q: If you believe there is a rotation happening in the market from mega caps and the direction of interest rates is lower (speculation US rate cute in september), what are your favorite CDN and US names (2-3 names each) that may outperform in that environment?

Thanks as always,

Dave

Q: Hi Peter & team,

I am curious about your thoughts with regards to MindMed (MNMD). They are a US biotech that is involved with clinically supervised psychedelic therapy for PTSD, anxiety, etc.

Promising research has come out of Johns Hopkins led by Roland Griffiths. Public trust still needs to be ascertained, however, even if trust seems to be waning slowly with conventional medicine.

Would this be a holding that you expect to do well in the long term?

Any other non-conventional biotech firms that show promise?

Thank you!

Regards,
Andrew M.

Q: Brad Jacobs has been president of the XPO and had done 2 spin off in the recent years (GXO and RXO).
He now plans to create a new company called QXO which trades on the nasdaq at the moment but is it actually the ticker symbol of this new company ? What do you think of this new name and would you take a position in the new entity at the moment or wait ? I am not sure if the capital structure of the company is actually finalized. They have big plans for the coming years. Thanks
