Q: Greetings 5i members
I have been thinking about increasing my reit exposure. I know that you like tcn and Granite reit. There is also a US reit that you have mentioned from time to time. I tried to look it up on the site by going through the questions. But nothing rang a bell. I am quite sure you will know the company I am talking about. Out of the two mentioned and the so far unknown US reit, which would be your favourite and why? I cannot see either any advantage in holding a Canadian reit in a registered account. Nor can i see a disadvantage in holding a US reit. Do you see any advantages or disadvantages one way or another?
Thanks as always for the great service you provide

Q: What are your top US REITs?
Q: InterRent REIT downgraded to a sell by one analyst. What is your opinion of this company and could you recommend a few replacements? Thanks.
Q: I recently sold my shares in RDFN for a small loss as it has not be doing much. I have been looking for a new real estate position in my TFSA to replace RDFN. I have noticed more questions recently about EXPI. Can you describe why you like this company? Would it be one of your top picks in real estate US stocks? If not, what are your ranked top 5 in order? I see EXPI is down 13% today as of writing this question (no news that I can find) and wondering what you might see as a favorable entry point. I am ok with volatility and am looking for long-term growth in my TFSA.

Thank you!

Q: I am continue to look for Candian listed REITs that own properties in the USA. Your recommendations for any/all sectors of the US REIT market would be appreciated. I already own Tricon Capital but would certainly like to add more residential as well as industrial...

Q: I am interested in REITs for potential retirement income. However, when one looks into the details of the “dividends” often a significant portion of the yield is return of capital. Are there any Canadian reits that make distributions that are largely just income and if so can you advise of same. Thanks Bill
Q: May I please have you opinion of Armour Residential Reit in the US. Thank you.
Q: Peter and co., a year ago you expressed some concern about Flagship Communities REIT, a US$ REIT that trades on the TSX, because it was a new IPO. May I have your current assessment of the company and stock valuation?

Q: Hi,
Can you tell me what type of account is generally best to hold US REITs, from a tax perspective?
I hold these 4 Canadian REITs (TCN, WIR.U, DIR.UN, SMU.UN) and am interested in several US REITS. I've been considering AMT, CCI, EQIX, DLR. Can you comment on these and suggest a few others.

Q: Are you aware of any companies in Canada that would have a business model similar to Tricon (TSX:TCN) wherein they rent single family residences in Canada. My understanding is that Tricon's portfolio is largely in the United States.

Q: What are your top three REIT's?
- Choice Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (CHP.UN)
- Inovalis Real Estate Investment Trust (INO.UN)
Q: Good Morning,
Thanks for your excellent service. I owe INO.UN and CHP.UN in REIT. Looking to replace them with 1 Industrial/Commercial/ REIT and 1 residential REIT. Looking for long term growth and not much concerned about Income. Can you recommend 2 REITS in each space with brief comments on the rationale that there long term prospects will be better then the one I am replacing.
Thanks and have a great day

Q: In my TFSA I am looking to move it to a more growth oriented stance. In keeping with this I have added ENGH and LSPD already. In what order would you sell the above (other than LSPD and ENGH)? I could sell off whole positions or just reduce the holdings either is fine. Any reasoning behind the ranking would be useful too.
Q: What are your current thoughts on CRT.UN? Thanks.
