Q: Thank you Peter and good crew. I asked a question Re BOX.un. The answer provided was very worthwhile. My one concern was that I had hoped to hear some news re. whether the vacancy situation in the N.Y office buildings had been addressed. Could you please advise. Thank you,

Q: Hi,
I purchased TMC at $10.44, as recommended by my previous management firm, for my TFSA. In view of Thursday's transactions, should I continue to hold or cut my losses and run?
Thank you.

Q: Hi Guys,

I have some cash I want to invest in the “high risk” area of my fixed income portfolio.

I currently own units of Innvest REIT (INN.un). My plan is to sell the INN.un units and buy Dundee Industrial REIT (DIR.un) to upgrade my REIT portfolio while maintain my cash flow. With the cash I already have, I will purchase one of Innvest’s debentures.

What do you think of the idea? Will my portfolio and cash flow be in a superior position (read safer) after the transactions?

Thanks for the input.

Regards
John

Q: Would you consider NWH a safe dividend at 8% and a safe investment for the next year.

Q: Earlier today you stated that the payout for nwh.un is 92%. I use the Globe and mail watchlist and it says the "dividend payout ratio" is 41.56%. Can you shed some light on the huge discrepancy?

Q: Hi Peter,
NWH.UN is paying over 8% yield and has lagged the recovery on REITs. Looking at the NAV which is close to $12 per share, at what point is this a clear buy?

Q: American Hotels Income Fund (HOT.UN)released its Q4 and 2013 results this morning-- and the market seems to be punishing it for the results (down over 7%). The results didn't seem too bad, with continuing expansion tied to long-term railway occupancy guarantees, etc. Could I have your views on the results and the security of the nice distribution?
Thank you.
Harold.

Q: Good day Peter...I'm caught up trying to classify positions by sector. And I need feedback about a few REIT Trust companies. Should all REITs.un be classified under real estate or CSH.un as health care, GRT.un as industrials, BYD.un as consumer discretionary and HR.un as diversified?......Thanks....Tom M

Q: Recently you remarked that REITS could be considered part of the fixed-income portion of a portfolio. Could the same be said of Mortgage Investment Corps (e.g. MCAN, Timbercreek, Trez), or would they be part of the equity allocation?

What is the difference between Timbercreek Mortgage Investment Corp. (TMC) and Timbercreek Senior Mortgage Investment Corp (MTG)? (Same with Trez Capital: TZZ and TZS.)

Q: In Sept. last year you answered a question regarding this company INN.UN and indicated that it was O.K. for income with no negative indicators. Orange Capital is now involved and they disagree with your point of view but have taken a 10% position with a view of bringing about changes to this poorly run company. From your experience is a position of this size a big enough club to sway managements train of thought. Orange maintains that with change the units should be worth 50% more.
