Q: I guess you spoke too soon yesterday as Birchcliff upped their dividend to $.20/quarter from $.02/quarter. Any thoughts on their press release yesterday announcing the new dividend rate plus 2023 and 5 year plans?

Q: HI there
Wondering what your thoughts are on the announced .80 Dividend. Do you believe this is sustainable/ And what about cutting the Cap program, if needed, to continue the dividend. Too good to be true?
Thanks
Stuart

Q: I read that Jan 16, 2023 Suncor amended an agreement with Elliott to add an additional director for Jan 31, 2023 to Mar 17, 2023. Why would SU add a director for 45days?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: could you give an in-depth analyses of GXE please. The dividend looks very attractive.
Would you be a buyer here or could you mention some better candidates in the sector.
High yield stocks like GXE are they best in a TSFA account?

Q: Hi, I’m curious and very intrigued as to how an AQN takeover might happen. Could it be bought whole and if so who has the resources to pull this off? I’m thinking Brookfield/ BEPC or perhaps another Private Equity company like KKR? Or could it be sold off in parts perhaps renewables to a NPI or Brookfield and the Power Gen/Transmission/Water to a Fortis? Thanks in advance.
Q: Hello Team, I am low on Utilities and Oil/Gas stocks in my portfolio. Can I get 2-3 names for each for me to review. Looking for fairly aggressive stocks.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Peter, I have a question that may sound stupid but here goes. Trudeau and Biden have said there is no future in a carbon economy and have promised to shut down oil and gas as soon as possible. What then does the future hold for Pembina , Enbridge, Trans Canada ????? I would think that with no product or much less product there future is not good either. Many analyts are promoting Nutrien as they say the world needs more food, yet our leaders are going to cut our food production by limiting fertiliser use. I was a farmer for 40 years in Alberta and grew enough Barley Wheat Canola and beef cattle to feed thousands of people a year. This would not have happened without the nutrients to grow it. If all of these things are taken away please tell me what is left to invest in??? Banks?? Thank you Ken
Q: Peter; BIR can’t seem to get any traction vs other NG companies. The dividend is minuscule - should one assume it won’t be upped anytime soon- seems like dead money . Is there a reason to sell it and look elsewhere- TOU or ? Your thoughts please. Thanks

Q: Hi there. I am looking for a dividend growth company or ETF to add to our kids RESP with a 10 year time horizon. What do you recommend from the 5i Research universe to initiate a position in now. After the initial purchase, I intend to dollar cost average on an ongoing basis. I already have Telus, Abbvie, and BMO in two other accounts and those are my highest dividend payers.
Q: looking to generate a little more income in my RIF with these three CDN O&G names. In your opinion, would a mix of all three achieve some benefit of diversification or does one of these stand out as a clear favourite to own for either safer income, growth or bothÉ
Q: The market has not reacted well to the 2023 budget plan. Is there cause for concern with this stock, or does it make sense to ride out the storm?

Q: Hi,
The company is downgraded by many firms. Has the future business plan is below investment grade compared to other Brookfield companies? Last year they acquired Westinghouse. The company has lowered dividend for past two year (2020 US$ 0.434 * 4), (2021 US$ 030375 * 4) and (2022 US$0.32 * 4). This is the weakest company among the Brookfield Group. My question is whether Westinghouse acquisition is not a profitable one or too early to say? Is it advisable to invest some amount in BRE.un just to take advantage of weakness in stock price at this time or better put money in BBU.un? I hold all the Brookfield Group companies that issues through spinoffs.
Thanks
Piyush

Q: Hello All,
Is it possible to rank my list of utility companies sorting via most financially vulnerable therefore most likely to underperform because of the increased cost of financing. i.e worst to best please.
Is that a blunt but reasonable filter?
Could it be that the "worst" companies have been so badly beaten up that they may be worth adding to for the long haul?
Many thanks

Q: I noted EFX has gone from the low 8s to the mid-9s over the past two weeks, I have not been able to find any company-specific news to account for the quick pop. As always appreciate your services.
Q: Is AQNU a good buy today? What would total return be at today's price in June 2024?
Thanks

Q: I’m trying to understand the parameters of the special dividend being paid by Tourmaline.
The announcement reads: The special dividend is part of Tourmaline’s comprehensive shareholder return plan and will be paid on February 1, 2023 to shareholders of record on January 24, 2023.
Does this mean that you could buy shares on Monday January 16th, sell them on January 25th, and capture the special dividend with the only risk being a drop in the share price over that period?
Somehow this doesn’t seem reasonable to me.

Q: What is your opinion of the management team at AQN? Do they have a strong enough team to orchestrate a turnaround of their fortunes? Is this a hold or sell?
