Q: Hi Peter,
Why do you think IPCO drop so much today specially when Oil is having a good day. Does it change your investment thesis or is it time to add to a an existing half position?

Q: Dividend yield for ENS is 10.10%. Lower than in the past but still very high. How can they pay out this much when ENB only pays 8.77%?
Would you be a buyer of ENS?
Thanks as always. Your advice is appreciated.

Q: Hi folks
Today Feb 6, XLE is $85.45 as I type. I believe i read in the Q and A that you mentioned that if XLE dropped below $85.00 that the sector is rolling over. Is this still the case? If so what would you suggest I do if anything? My weighting is 9.5%. I own ENB, SHEL, HES, TOU, TVE, PEY, SU, PXT with each at varying weights. (ENB being the highest at 3.35% and I realize also a Utility)
Thankyou as always..much appreciated.

Q: I've reviewed the financials, recognize micro-cap risk, and gas price drop off but no matter what gas companies, to sustain production (decreasing well outputs) or increase by even 5% to 8% per annum, require new production and so these two companies products are in demand. Recent results (last Q) were good improvements for both companies, though only SHLE has shown a market response. Can you do a quick financial and product comparison and indicate which you'd prefer over the other. I realize these are so small they are likely under your radar screen.
Thanks for all you do.

Q: what are your 3 top stocks related to the oil industry?
Q: I need income. I'm bullish on oil. I'm trying to decide between encc & nrgi. Nrgi holds mostly US stocks which could be a tax problem. I don't mind giving up some upside for a covered call strategy.
Maybe a combination of both?
Thank you.

Q: Hello, could you provide some guidance around NPI. Seems investors did not like the 2023 guidance provided by the company on Feb 3, 2023. Was the guidance that bad? Adjusted EBITDA dropped from around 1.3 to 1.25 billion while the adjusted free cash flow dropped from $1.85-2.05 to $1.70 to 1.90. Price is close to a 2.5 year low. Thoughts going forward. Thanks.
Q: After NPI put out its guidance for 2023, the stock dropped 3% on Friday and set a new low for the year. I checked analysts estimates for 2023 and found an average drop in earnings of near 30% and a forward p/e of 21. Is that your estimate for 2023? And, if it is, how is it that the same analysts give it a consensus rating of buy to strong buy? Do you consider NPI a buy at its current price.
Q: Either or neither:
ENB vs. TRP.
ENB vs. TRP.
Q: Can I have your analysis on these two companies recently announced earnings and your overall opinion on these two securities.
Q: Could you please list the risks?? I’m down on it now but like the income. Switch suggestions?? Thx
Q: Wondering what is causing the deterioration in their share price? Any thoughts?
Q: Would you suggest profit taking on some Canadian energy stocks now?
Q: Hello 5i, is Fortis' debt too large, and is their cash flow sufficient to afford their dividends?
Q: Hello Peter & Team
I hold a full position + 25% (ENB) in my TFSA because of the Dividend and a comfortable feeling of capital integrity/safety. In your recent report you cite the DEBT/EBIDTA ratio runs at about 4.7% for ENB where net debt-to-EBITDA ratios of less than 3 are considered acceptable.
Is something I should be concerned about? Would you recommend holding fast with this position? (really like the dividend) And lastly, is there anything you would recommend (all things considered) in place of ENB?
Thanks for all you do

Q: Gas is out of favour right now, and I need to raise some funds. Earlier today I sold ARX, at roughly a 20% loss. After I did that, I thought I should ask for your insight into selling TOU. My first question is when are they due to report their quarterly report. Secondly, I understand they have contracts to sell gas on the Gulf Coast. Will this insulate them enough. Do you feel the present price is taking this into consideration or is it over sold?
