Q: Hi 5i
I own GXE in a TFSA and in the midst of today's bloodbath the value of my holding is down 45% from when I bought quite some time ago. There's not an overly significant amount of money involved and I can ride it out if that's the thing to do, but I would like to minimize my losses as effectively as possible.
With that in mind, what would you recommend I do - sell, hold or buy some more at the current depressed price, and why?
Thanks 5i, I look forward to your thoughts.
Peter
Q: Hi,
This stock dropped 20% on an update that did not seem negative, just ahead of earnings. I have a position, but I don't understand today's move; are you able to shed any light?
Q: Hello 5i team,
I have held the US stock of Brookfield Renewable Corp for a bit over 2 years. For that same time, BEPC has been on a steady but very slow decline (-23%).
Back when it was a REIT (BEP.UN.TO) I did very well.
In your opinion what are the prospects of this slow decline turning around? I wanted to add more because I still believe in the quality of the company (part of my utilities sector). Plus they have steadily increased their dividend ~5% every year since it's inception (July 2020).
I see in a recent Canadian Press article that Canada will need to build more green electricity generation and transmission to support the future net-zero emissions economy.
Are there any companies in 1). generation (nothing nuclear please) or 2). transmission related to this that would be good investments?
We already own most of the green utilities such as BEP, AQN, INE, BLX, NPI, NEE as well as other non-utilities such as HPS-A, PWR, ENPH.
Also, with regards to others countries also moving towards electrification, are there other companies outside of Canada that you would recommend?
Q: 1. What will be the effect on TC Energy stock prices if Coastal Gaslink project price increases by a further $1.2B?
2. What will be the effects on TC Energy stock if TC is forced to reduce operating pressure on Keystone pipeline?
Q: With the Coastal Gas Link pipeline getting close to completion. Which energy companies would be prime beneficiaries?
On a related energy question, when is the Trans Mountain pipeline expected to be completed and are there any energy companies who stand to benefit the most? Will this pipeline help close the gap in price with WTI?
Q: Hi, We have held a full position in ENB for many years and added a 1.5% position in TRP about a year ago, at $60-61, in a Non-Regd account, for Income/Growth.The investment, however, has been a huge disappointment. The endless cost issues with Coastal Link pipeline project and no clear timeline is now widely known. Are you aware of any catalysts in the near future ?
Over numerous comments, you have clearly indicated your preference for ENB and there being no particular need to own both companies. Based on the current scenario, would you support moving out of TRP ? Now or wait for the quarterly results ?
And, if we decide to sell the whole position ( and at least book the capital loss), what would be a reasonable price level you would use?
Q: What's the reason on why PXT opened this morning and took a big hit - down almost 8% at one time. Would it have anything to do with abandoning the an exploratory well? This is all the info I can get
"PAREX RESOURCES INC - IT HAS ABANDONED CHIRIMOYA EXPLORATION WELL AT VIM-43"
Q: i have a large position in athabaska, the oil stocks seem to have finally found their legs.

Q: Hi 5i another question for the experts at 5i. I am interested in your take on KEC and why it is trading at such a low pe? Fundamentals seem to be good and it has positive analyst reports. What am I missing?
Q: What would your thoughts be on this upgrade today from RBC with a $13 price. Would you put a small % on this almost 1 billion dollar market cap?
Thanx Gary
Q: Hi All,
I have recently bought TRP and it has been falling ever since. I don't know whether I should continue to hold on to it and hope that this downward trend will reverse itself or sell and move on to something with more momentum?
Will the completion of the Keystone Pipeline inspire some upward movement in the stock? Also is the dividend safe?
Thanks for your valued opinion.
