Hi Peter
I sold my PrairieSky this morning at a huge 40% gain from the IPO price as it was like getting 10 years of dividends all at once as a capital gain - too good to resist - so now I am looking for a good long life higher dividend paying oil company.
I have narrowed down my choice to these growing light oil companies, one or more of which I would expect to hold for many many years.
Safety and growth of dividends, and decent share price growth are most important to me.
Whitecap [WCP]
Surge [SGY]
Bonterra [BNE]
Crescent Point [CPG]
Canadian Oil Sands [COS]
Could you please put these in order as to which you prefer and maybe explain why you make the choices you do.
Thank you very much............ Paul

Q: What are your thoughts on mmt right now. Seems like there is something going on right now the stock only goes from around 1.47 to 1.50 give or take a few cents here, it's been like this for a while now. One would think with the run up in o/g stocks it would at least move around more than this. What do they say "a rising tide raises all boats".
Q: I am toiling with the idea of selling WCP while it is trading at such a high. Once we see stabilization in the middle east WCP will most likely come back down. Correct?
Is it best to sell now, and buy back when it goes back down to the ~$15.00 mark?

Q: Hello Peter,
Thanks again for your reply on AAPL and BKE. Lately, many of the energy stocks have been moving higher. Is this because of the IRAG situation? If so, any idea why Spartan Energy (SPE on Vanc)has not moved higher with the energy sector? Also, i am thinking of adding suncor to my existing position, but technically it looks over bought. Should i wait for a pull back? Thanks very much. Umed

Q: What is your opinion on LRE given the recent gassy acquisition? I'm concerned management may continue to issue shares like CPG, stagnating the share price. Thanks.

Q: This is a follow-up to the question asked by Mike as to when to sell a stock.
How does paying attention to the five parameters mentioned apply to commodities? I am thinking specifically about oil, which is rising in price primarily (it seems) to unrest in Iraq. If, and when, that situation is resolved or at least quieted, should we expect the price of oil to decline? If so, does one look at trimming holdings in oil companies now as the price rises and portfolios unbalance or should we as investors wait and not adhere as strongly as we might normally do to portfolio weightings?
Thanks for the in-sight.

Q: Hello Peter & Co.
I'm thinking of adding some exposure to the energy field services sector. Hesitating between CEU and HWO. The latter seems to be at a good entry point after its recent drop.
Thanks
Tony

Q: Hi Peter & Team:
Can you please explain to me what the significance of High Artic's (HWO) $25 million
Bought Deal offering of Subscription Receipts @ a price of $4.95 per receipt will be on
the price of of the common Shares? If I understand this correctly, the receipts represent the right to acquire 1 common share of HWO per receipt. The receipts will be listed on
TSE as HWO.R. I have noticed the price of the common shares have fallen since the announcement. As the holders of these receipts convert to common shares & sell them
on the market will it not act as a deterrent to the stock increasing in price.
Thanks: Jerry
