Q: Hi Peter & Team,

Can you give an update on your thoughts on East West Petroleum, (EW.V) with regards to its news release today stating that they have gotten back their initial investment in the well and the fact that the cash flow from the well will cover expenses for the remainder of the year. In addition, they have a Normal course issuer bid in place. I would look at these two events as quite positive long term.

Q: Hi There

I believe I read a comment of yours regarding an oilfield services company, but can't find it. Is there one you would suggest for income in a well diversified retiree portfolio? TKS

Q: I bought Surge a few months back, and added more a month ago. My ACB is just over $6, and it makes up about 3% of my portfolio. I know you like it, and am considering increasing holdings to a full position of 4%. However, it has been a very poor performer over the last few weeks, and I have some concern that people may see it as another Crescent Point (isn't it partly the same management?) with endless new shares and dilutions. Think it is better to sit tight, or do you view it as a good buy at the current price? Please also comment on the distribution stability.
As always, thank-you

Q: I have a question about Surge Energy, SGY. From your comments and answers to other questions, you seem to like the company and speak favourably of it. My question is, SGY is not an "official" recommendation. What is it about the company that keeps you from formally recommending it? Does it have deficiencies or risks that concern you? Thanks again for your help.

Q: BTE..r and yesterday's question. My understanding is that when the deal closes BTE.r will have accumulated but unpaid dividends attached. So BTE.r already has $0.22 attached that will be paid at the close. This in the NR announcing the close of the financing but is not in the initial NR about financing.

Q: Essential Energy Services, ESN reported yesterday. Earnings per share missed estimates by 1 penny for the year. I hold this stock for the 4.5% dividend yield and expected 5 to 10% capital appreciation over the next two to three years. The balance sheet appears to be very strong and I assess the downside risk over the two to three years to be minimal. I would appreciate your assessment of my reasoning. Thanks for your help.
