Q: further to yesterday's question from Arnold-----there are two articles re BIP.UN in Seeking Alpha yesterday re BIP.UN. Do you have any comments on the opinions and do you have any information on buyback from Brookfield on this stock.
Q: Dear 5i
When stocks that payout dividends/interest monthly i assume the share price of the stock temporarily goes down after the distribution is payed . If that is correct would it be wise to buy into that stock at that point when the stock is lower after the distribution ?
Also i can't decide whether to top up my enbridge position or start a new position in pembina . Do you have a preference ? Is it a good time to take on an energy position in addition to CNQ which i currently have ?
Thanks again and deduct as necessary .

Q: Watch this stock continually fall. I am wondering if it is time to sell or move the money into BN for some exposure into the renewable space.
Thanks Steve
Q: The contract changes in Trinidad and Tobago seem to be a loss of sales. How much does the idling of the Atlas facility hurt the revenues of MX? The stock sold off on this news but I note some insider buying also. What is your current assessment of this as an investment?
Q: Hello 5i
Could you explain the options for a current Essential Energy Services shareholder with the agreement that was made by Essential to be acquired by Element Technical Services, if the amalgamation is approved and also if it is not approved.
Can you recommend your top three energy companies (US or Canada) with a solid balance sheet and generous dividend?
I need to round out my portfolio with some energy.
Thanks for all you do!
Q: I’ve been looking at Enbridge debt for the past 10 years. It is up quite significantly. With the rise of interest rates, their interest payments are increasing every quarter. They will now be adding more to their debt with the recent acquisition. Is this the next AQN? Is the dividend safe?
Tks Kevin
Q: I am looking for $US-denominated ETFs to hold within my RRSP/RRIF. I would be interested in both shorter and longer-term names. When I review the questions you have answered and the company's literature, it is not clear if the bonds pay US dollars or are simply US bonds bought in Canadian dollars.
I am assuming that any ETFs that fit my criteria would not result in US taxes being paid as long as they are held directly in my registered accounts. If this is not the case, please suggest ways to ensure no taxes are withheld at source.
Q: Can you please tell me the estimated forward P/E for the above 4 utilities. Could you please rate from best to worse for potential total return over the next 2-3 years.
Thanks
Q: Hello,in regards to XOMs 60B all stock deal to purchase Pioneer with a market cap of roughly 440B its roughly 1/7 of their market cap, does this mean they issue that much new stock and if so for short to medium term shareholders it’s probably not ideal and basically could I have your thoughts on this acquisition Thanks and have a great day!
Q: With the recent conflict in Israel, the forecasted coming recession in North America, and continued high interest rates for the foreseeable future, would now be a good entry point to buy SU? If not, what range would be reasonable to buy it at?
Would you say that SU has good looking prospects for an increase in share price for an investment horizon of 3 to 5 years? I am looking for a decent dividend to be accompanied by stock appreciation. Or, if the price appreciates significantly sooner than that, I could exit at that point too. Thank you for your insights.
Q: Hi
What is so great about Nextera Energy. They have almost doubled their debt since 2018 from about 38 billion to 72 billion. They have been raising their dividend roughly 10% a year and not even coming close to earning it. Their FCF per share alone in 2022 was Negative .74 Cents, yet their paying out $1.69..
The 2 years prior was just as bad. The return on their assets in 2021 was only 1.44% and 2022 was 1.57%

Q: What is your current opinion of HME? Do you feel it is similar in balance sheet strength, dividend reliability and future prospects to such firms as ARX, BIR, and HWX? Thanks
Q: Will Alberta’s recent anti renewable energy legislation affect CPX’s future prospects. How do you rank this company compared to other Canadian utilities?
Q: What are your thoughts on BIR? It has lagged for the year and more so over
the past month. The dividend is in question, I recall $70 oil and $3 gas covers it. Is there any rationale to it being in question?
The other news I see is a new CEO coming in Jan, any thoughts on this?
Would you buy in here or would it be safe to wait for tax loss selling later in the year?
