Q: Your general thoughts on BOE, if they can survive oil at these levels for a prolonged period, future prospects, etc.
Q: Peter and team
I have one trading account that holds fairly aggressive and volatile securities. The oil portion of this is: BDI, DEE, PD,PPY,SGY,SPE, and QST.
I am willing to wait things out, but my question is are there any of these that are not likely to survive a prolonged downturn. IE could you please rank in order of "survival".
Thanks for all you do
Phil

Q: I have just read your answer to Dale (Jan 29) and would like to know if you believe DEE and Surge have "survivability" in this downward spiral of oil prices?
Thank you and your service is much appreciated.

Q: A follow up question to Hugh's question earlier, understand this is not a good entry point to buy, what is your view if it is part of a portfolio with 8% in energy and is 1 of 6 stocks in the mix (Purchased at ~$16).
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Is this a good entry point for Canadian Oil Sands stock? Tx
Q: Hi Peter, TOU was hanging in until yesterday. Besides general weakness, did something change ? Thanks, Paul
Q: Could I get your opinion on this company? They seem to have a fixed price of $77/barrel in Argentina and some properties in Canada. The CAPEX is set for 2015. Lots of reported resources to drill up. Sounds like they have some new board additions recently. Given our low spot price for oil, how does it look to you for the next few quarters? Is it somewhat sheltered vs other energy companies by Argentine fixed price of $77/barrel?
Q: Hi Team. Can you tell me how Canyon (FRC) is doing? Can they survive? It just keeps going down and down. I bought at the top in May. :(
thank you
thank you
Q: Hi Peter,
I've heard you say in the past a healthy buy signal for a company is when it announces its first dividend. In keeping with buy signal strategy, what sort of signals are the professionals looking for when they start buying oil equities? What would you consider a buy signal in the oil patch? My concern is that the non-professionals almost always are too early or too late which kills return. Thank you for your time.

Q: Peter,I have 17 equity positions in my equity account, each with a similar weighting. The positions include 6 energy and energy related stocks - Boralex, Crescent Point, Emera, Trinidad Drilling, Enerplus, and Suncor. Do you recommend selling any of these ?
Q: Hi Peter and team.
Warren Buffet says to buy steak on sale.
I am thinking of EnCana for a three to five year hold for appreciation.
What do you think of the quality of this steak?
Gord

Q: Is Athabasca strong enough to weather this weak oil market? Do you have any recommendations for an alternative with a stronger balance sheet?
Q: Hello there,
I have been waiting for an opportune time to get in on RE and other companies that will eventually have a decent bounce back. What do you think of RE's 2015 plans? Is this a good time? Any other suggestions for this sector?
Thank you in advance!

Q: Hello Peter, Your thought and advise on BDI, ACQ, SPE, BAD, SGY, AVO, FM. These are the losers (average 30%) in otherwise balanced portfolio ( mostly 5i). DO YOU RECOMMEND TAKING LOSS AND MOVE ON TO OTHER MODEL PORTFOLIO STOCKS OR YOU STILL LIKE TO KEEP ANY / ALL OF THESE, ALSO, IF YOU PREFER TO KEEP THEN DO YOU RECOMMEND TO ADD IN ANY/ ALL THESE TO BRING BACK TO ORIGINAL PORTFOLIO WEIGHTING.THANKS AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEE YOU IN THE SEMINAR.
Q: For my US account, i am thinking of buying a large energy company. CEO is down 32% from sept 14, BP down 34%, CVX down 22
I think they will all recover, and i believe CEO has the most upside to return to $200.00 Would you agree or recommend some better name.
Thanks, LC

Q: Hello,
I have owned a small position in Zargon since 2007. ZAR managed to survive the 2008 Financial Recession but I wonder about its future considering possible extended low oil prices.
I see it has relatively high debt to equity (71%), has some oil price hedging for the beginning of 2015 and payout ratio of FFO at or near 50%.
I am wondering what you think about its debt level?
I am wondering what you think about its dividend?
And lastly I am wondering what you think about their assets and their operations?
Thank you very much.
Regards
Stephane

Q: I own a package of O+G service companies that have been crushed......PRW, MCR, E, ENT, WEQ and GKX. My logic was related to the eventual go ahead of LNG on the West Coast, new pipelines to the West Coast and expansion of oil sands activities in Alberta.
They all would appear to be vulnerable to project cancellations and high debt levels.
How would you rank these from safest and most likely to eventually prosper, to those in jeopardy of failing.
Many thanks.

Q: with a recently announced reduced (74%) 2015 capital program and a 50% dividend reduction, how do you feel about PGF? Continue to hold? Buy some more? Sell?
