Q: With the threat of increased royalties to the province of AB, how does this affect a royalty company like Freehold? Are they subject to provincial royalties or are the actual exploration companies that FRU lease to, the ones with responsibility?

Q: Given the uncertainty over Oil (in Alberta) and Provincial Govt (NDP, Royalty Reviews, etc) what do you think about Crescent Point Energy Corp?

It has assets outside of Alberta, has either Buy or Strong Buy recommendations from TD and RBC research. Seems to be at a low point for the price.

Q: Hi Peter & Team,

Can you explain what this means. I have HNL stocks that I have held for a few years?

There is a $50MM equity offering for Horizon North Logistics this morning priced at $3.75/sh. Proceeds to reduce indebtedness leading into an increased capital expenditure program of $30MM that the company announced today. Based on the price of the offering, this represents a 9% dividend yield.

Thank you for your great service.

Q: My good friend, curious about my 5 year CAGR of 15% - aided and abetted by 5i - and unhappy with his professionally managed portfolio that is flat over 18 months, asked me to take a look.

There are two major problems:

Not only is a stupendous 53% of the portfolio in 5 banks, 3 Canadian and 2 U.S. but another 16% is in 6 energy stocks, and 11% of the portfolio is in CPG.

This is of course patently ridiculous.

All six energy stocks are substantially down. The question: on a go forward basis do you see any hope for these six or should he just cut and run and of course diversify?

Thank you

Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
All I can say is "HELP"! TDG went down today almost 10% on hugh volumne of 8.8M shares. I realize that in takeovers the purchasers shares usually decline and of course the other side is delighted with the premium and cash in their hand.Several consultants seem to think that this deal was constructive and had long term value for TDG.Yesterday Eric Nuttall on BNN was very optimistic in the long term for TDG claiming it was very cheap and made it a Top Pick.I am not sure if he was taking this deal into his calculation. In any event I would like your assessment of this deal and share holder reaction. Are they panicking...are they being too short sighted or are they smarter that management?
Your info and insights are always valuable and help me sleep at night!Ha!Ha! Thanks again!
