Q: Hello,
I own a 3/4 position in HSE and note it's just announced it will pay its quarterly dividend in shares starting in January. I don't currently need the income but when I bought HSE the dividend was a big part of the attraction. Do you think this announcement represents a change in fundamentals and I should move on elsewhere to perhaps Exon-Mobil in the US or Whitecap here in Canada (I already own Peyto and Chevron in the sector)?
Thank you.

Q: Hi,

Kelso looks pretty good to me right now. TD waterhouse shows 0 EPS for 2015 and 0.46 for 2016 which is a huge jump. They have a patent for what they do. The stock is trading at 1.40 with a 2.4% dividend that could be collected while one waits for the recovery. This looks like a total no brainer to me. Am I missing something? What is your long term outlook for the stock? And what risks are there at this price point?

Best,

Carla

Q: Peter, my energy sector was 5% with a half position in TOU and VET. What was 5% is now less than 2.5%. I am going to take some gains in my other sectors and would like to increase my energy sector back to 5% or perhaps 8%. Would you suggest adding to these two companies or buying another stock such as BEP.un? I have been using your stock selections and your portfolio approach for the past 2 1/2 years and my returns have been outstanding! Thank you.

Q: Hello Peter & 5i Team

Are there any hedges in place that will help support Surge and if not how do you feel the company is doing currently? Will they manage to keep the dividend at current levels or would it be at risk if oil prices remain at these levels?

Thanks for your valued opinion, as always.

Q: Greetings, Peter and Staff.
I find High Arctic Energy to be a very frustrating stock. The company appears to be great while the stock is not. If the stock begins to move up, it invariably gets whacked.
The stock has been doing better recently but today it took a big hit. The stock dropped $0.27 (7+%) in the last two or three minutes of trading for the week. I am concerned that HWO may be the target of a short attack so I will be watching for a very negative analyst report by Monday.
Am I paranoid? Can you help me understand what happened at the close?
With much appreciation for your excellent service.

Q: Hi- what do you think of Rocky Mountain now? They seem to have more than enough earnings and cash flow to cover the dividend- might they swing their business at all to benefit from infrastructure spending? Are they in a trough here?
Thanks

Q: I have held PHX for years - mainly for the income but (once upon a time) also for growth as well. Now both seem to have disappeared.

I am considering a switch into BDI (Black Diamond) once again looking for income (~10.4% yield) and growth (currently beaten up but showing signs of life). Could I please have your opinion:
Stay with PHX; or move on to BDI or would that likely be a frying pan/ fire scenario.
If so, any suggestions for another company with income and growth potential.
Thanks for you help.
