Q: Peter et al.

What do you make of the Premium Placing at $1.05 by Delek in Ithaca for $66 million and approximately 20% of the shares outstanding? Ithaca has moved up in the last month and seemed to be liquid until after the planned Stella start-up in July of next year. They say the funds will be used to reduce debt and for satellite field acquisitions. If used for debt reduction it will not have much affect on the nearly $750M outstanding debt for the huge equity giveaway. If used to acquire future production at a cheap price then I see value but to reduce the debt it will have a marginal impact right now IMO. What is your viewpoint? Am I missing something here.

Regards,

Brendan

Q: What is your opinion of the quality of the management at Petromanas? I believe they've made some dubious decisions such picking the wrong rig(2000hp instead of 3000hp), and spending money in a futile attempt (so far) to prove reservoir connectivity between 2 of their main prospects (one of which is a 100% wildcat)

Q: Hi, Peter and Co.
In view of a significant AND constant increase of supply of Natural gas worldwide, how would you characterize the future of PSk.
I own a small/medium position and back to same as last year. Notwithstanding the dividend, not very optimistic as to it's future growth prospect.
You may have a different opinion, thanks for sharing,
Claude

Q: I hold BTE-T and ERF-T and Im over 50% under water on both - originally I invested 3% of my portfolio in each stock (Im comfortable with that weighting). Would you advise averaging down and getting the % back to 3%? Or do I just hold and hope that with a massive oil recovery I may get back to my ACB (gains look unlikely on these two)? Thanks, Neil

Q: Hi Peter, I own BTE and my cost is 26.51 if I were to buy 100 more shares it would get the cost down to about 16.00. Would this gamble be wise, waiting for oil to rebound, and if it were to be bought at what price might it be bought at. I know you can't predict the price but what value might it have at this point. Thanks

Q: I see you continue to omit Whitecap Resources when members ask you for
your top oil/gas companies even though WCP remains in your balanced portfolio. (today you recommended TOU, PEY, RRX AND VET) Is this because they have greater upside from here or is there something else wrong with Whitecap as a top pick? I also noticed you recommended not to chase the current trend towards materials and oil and gas companies. Why is that?

Q: With Suncor attempting to entice exhausted shareholders with a 0.25 SU share exchange offer, COS loyalists are fortunate to have an influential shareholder in Seymour Schulich.

Schulich was quoted in saying:
“I ain’t selling at that price,” he said of Monday’s bid, adding that he believes Canadian Oil Sands is worth $20 per share. “If they succeed, I’ll go to court to get a valuation.”

My question is what options do COS shareholders have if SU were to be successful in this takeover chicanery? Could someone like Schulich order an independent valuation and let a judge decide what is fair for shareholders?
