Q: Merry Christmas folks. Cheers to a great year with a lot of help from the excellent work done by yourselves.
I have over the past two years divested myself of all oil and gas save a small piece of RDS.A
While I don't see a large recovery for at least another, and then a slow climb at best, for oil, I am thinking maybe it is time to start thinking about a piece of a dividend paying, probably service company sometime.
Thoughts?
Cheers, safe travels and lots of smiles this holiday season

Q: Referencing Greg's question about oil services stocks, you recommended HWO. Is a report forthcoming, and if so, approximately when?
Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

Q: Hi guys,
My wife is finally getting around to diversifying her portfolio and still has to high a weighting at 18.9% in Energy. Her holdings are CPG 4.89%, SPE 3.89%, TOU 2.78%, and WCP 7.34%. She also has 11.01% of her portfolio in PPL.
What do you think she should hold, trim or modify?
Thanks and Happy Holidays

Q: Would you please give your thoughts on these two. PHX has new technology which seems to have received orders and SDY supplies a variety of goods and services. Your comments will be valued. Happy holidays
Q: I've held SGY for a number of years and, as is the case for a lot of oil producers, it was a decent stock until the 2014 collapse in oil prices. It has come back a bit recently but I have a cost base of $6.31. Should I continue to wait patiently for a further recovery in oil prices (perhaps years away) or take the loss and put the proceeds into something else (what?)?
Q: If you could buy just one oil services company for a 1-2 year hold for a 5% weighting who would it be and for a mixture of growth and value thanks a lot
Q: what percentage would you be comfortable today investing in the energy sector? If I own SU, RRX AND PKI and it is about 13% of total portfolio is this too much?
Thanks

Q: Which of the drillers may have the biggest pop? Do you have a preference.
Q: Please explain why ENB uses the "drop down" of assets to ENF? As a heavily indebted company (ENB), does this tactic make it easier to access capital in the future by selling a portion of the shares it owns in ENF than issue more debt?

ConocoPhillips (COP $93.43)
-
Chevron Corporation (CVX $148.49)
-
Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNQ $46.67)
Q: I am selling my Conoco Phillips for tax loss reasons and looking at what to replace it with. What are your favourite big oil stocks? All the fundamentals look pretty bad to me but comparing charts over the last decade I find Chevron and CNRL seem to be stand out performers. I would prefer to have a good dividend which is fairly safe since I am semi retired.
Q: I have owned this fund SPR006 for 10 years of ups and downs. Is currently just above water and would like your opinion in the current environment, Hold ? Sell ? replace with what ? possibly at lower carrying costs. Appreciate your advice.

Q: What do you think of the deal with Precision Drilling? The market seems to like it, do you think this would be a good entry point?
