Q: Hi 5i.

I think your preferred measure for a company's dividend payout ratio is to compare it to operating cash flow. (Or is it free cash flow? Please clarify.)

What is CJ's current payout ratio using your preferred measure? And, is it possible to see this cash flow figure in 5i's company profiles?

Q: Can you give your impression of the earnings report for NPI yesterday? I was disappointed in the numbers- is it worth keeping? I know it has a good yield, but do you see any meaningful growth in the near future?

Q: Can you tell me what you think of the quarterly report that came out wednesday? I was disappointed in the 10 million reduction in free cash flow. Can you tell me how many shares are outstanding and whether than number increased from last year? Also do you still expect eqrningwto double or triple in 2005?

Which Canadian oil and gas companies would be most adversely affected by a resurgence of US fracking?

Q: TOU has been range been bound between $60 and $70 for the past 2 years. Natural gas has hovered between $1.60 and $3 over that same timeframe. In the past 6 months, gas has more than doubled to $4.10 today and yet TOU has only grown 8.5% in that same time frame. What is holding back the price of TOU ?

Q: Which electricity producers have the least solar and wind production as a percentage of overall production?

Q: Your thoughts on DJT's ask that the Keystone XL be built "now".

Q: While I am very overweight oil & gas producers I am not concerned as I bought several of these at under $1 which explains the overweight position. However, I do have capital losses on BTE and that got me thinking that maybe I should consolidate into the 3 best if I can manage the large capital gains tax. Would MEG, TVE and WCP be your choice? My only concern would be VRN which is currently a 7 bagger and I'd have to do that over time. Any comments or concerns with this or should I just continue to hold all. I do have a very large, diversified portfolio.

Q: INE is being bought by the Quebec government. Should I sell my shares now or hold for a possibly higher share price? In a registered account, so no tax implications, and I don't want the investment to sit idle.

Q: What is your assessment of the most recent results for PIF? What do you think of this company's prospects going forward and the safety of the dividend? What is the free cash flow of this company per share?

Q: I know you like pipes, including ppl. My question is why has ppl underperformed since the highs above $60 in Oct, Nov of 2024.
I am ready to buy ppl, but am looking at the entry point. It is still retrenching, so wondering if there is any reason. Is there reason to believe it has based, in which case I would enter, and hold for quite some time, for div and capital appreciation. Thanks

Q: I own FRU in a TFSA and although I appreciate the high dividend associated with this stock, I now understand that the dividend is not covered by either its Earnings or Cashflows.

Q1. With the NAV of the stock significantly down over the past few years and the dividend not being covered by either the Earnings or Cashflows, should I be worried about the relative safety of the dividend?

Q2. What are your thoughts on continuing to hold FRU in a TFSA and should a holder of FRU just cut their loss and replace FRU with some other stock?

Q3. What is your best idea as a FRU replacement should I need to sell FRU and replace it with another stock or ETF in the sector?

Q: I looked in my Brokerage account today and noticed that my former Gear Energy (GXE) shares had been converted into Lotus Exploration (LTC) shares and cash. It looks like 62% of my Gear holding was converted to Lotus shares and 38% was received in cash (at a very low valuation).

Since the transaction Lotus has lost 29% in just 2 weeks.
I don't know how such a sleazy deal got past the TSX regulators? This reminds me of the bad old days when the TSX head honchos enabled frauds such as Bre-ex, Sino-Forest and so on or the even worse Vancouver stock exchange days.
In total I am down 53% on my original Gear purchase in Jan'23.

I have 2 questions;
1) does LTC pay a dividend?
2) is there any valaue at all in LTC or is this whole thing a fraud?
