Q: Hi there

I have held Shawcor through the downturn and have a long term view on my investments - I can wait a few years for recovery. Just wondering given the poor outlook from the company for the next year and the poor outlook on the sector whether its valuation reflects this. Would it be a hold here or would you move on. I do think they have a bit of a unique boring business - a bit like Stella which I also hold.

Thanks

Stuart

Q: Hi Peter & Co.,
Can you please comment on the most recent quarterly results for Inter Pipeline? They missed street expectations. I hold this one primarily for income. From a portfolio management perspective, how much should a quarterly result such as this influence my thoughts on holding, reducing, or selling my position?
Thanks!
Brian

Q: Hello. Enbridge Gas represents a 4% in my total investment. Other than that, my portfolio is low in energy stocks. My questions are (1) Should I count ENB as part of an energy investment? (2) What should be the ideal percentage of energy sector in a balanced portfiolio? (3) Could you suggest several energy stocks or related energy stocks that have the most potential? (4) To your opinion, it is now a good timing to enter the market? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Q: I have TORC (TOG)and Whitecap (WCP) each representing a little over 1% of my portfolio. I am up on TOG and down on WCP.

I was thinking of selling Whitecap to capture the capital loss and to replace that stock with a name of equal (or greater quality) that also pays a monthly dividend. What would your top suggestions be? I was thinking perhaps Cardinal (CJ) or Vermillion (VET) but I'd greatly appreciate your opinion and insight.

Thanks.

Q: Hi there,

I am seeing the IPL is experiencing shutdowns due to the fires. Might the short term impact here be reason to exit a position and rebuy at a lower price or should the impact to the stock price not be that great?
Would it make sense to switch to PPL or perhaps a producer such as CPG or CJ that is differently affected?
