Q: Hi team. I have a large position in Birchcliff Energy which TDWaterhouse says is an Action list Buy and thinks might reach $7.00 a share in a years time. What do you feel are the prospects for this oil and gas producer? Thanks!
Q: Seven Generations recently reported what I felt were pretty good results plus they appear to have great proven reserves and continually seem to be able to keep production costs below industry averages. What is your position on this stock? Buy, hold, sell?
Q: I have noticed that most days recently Encana Starts very strong then often trades suddenly down or slowly down throughout the day.
What is this telling us ?
Furthermore to my question I asked on this company on Jan 31st after their plans to delist from the TSXV and be only listed on the LSE AIM to save costs I have some other enquires.
I have currently been employing a strategy to consolidate all of my shares into one account - my RRSP account prior to the delisting to limit the impact of the higher brokerage fee of $250 vs. $9.99 currently. I still believe in this company and believe in the long term hold of another 2 to 3 years and I will be rewarded.
However, I have been reading that the LSE AIM is not an exchange that is allowed to be used for RRSPs or TFSAs. Because of this if I hold this stock in my RRSP I will have to pay a monthly penalty of 1% of the capital value of the stock. Are you aware of this or can provide any advice?
I assume I can hold it in a regular stock account and pay no penalty.
Any advice will be appreciated. I plan to also ask my discount brokerage about this as well.
Q: Enbridge is down 6% so far today based on the Line 3 delay. Is this delay actually significant wrt forecasting future revenues and dividend increases? Seem like quite a drop
Q: In a questioned asked on Nov 15th your replied
“We are comfortable with HWO, but it too is down on the year and the sector still looks horrible. It will likely see some tax loss selling and we would look at this in the New Year instead. “
What are your current views on the sector and would you be a buyer of HWO today?
Thanks
John
Q: SDX will be delisted from the Venture Exchange and remain on the AIM. When this sort of event occurs what happens to shareholders who want to stay invested? Is there typically a mechanism that transfers their holdings to the remaining exchange or do they have to sell on one exchange and buy on the other?
