Q: When the Tervita takeover was announced, analysts' estimates of the value offered to Newalta shareholders ranged from $1.55 to $2.50, with an average around $1.65 to $1.70. Since Tervita is currently private these might be quite inaccurate, but they are all investors have to go on until the detailed offer is published. The offer was such a welcome lifeline to Newalta that I expected it would bounce up a bit (it did) and then crawl steadily towards the $1.50 mark (it hasn't). I can't imagine Newalta shareholders will reject the offer, nor that the presumably many fewer Tervita shareholders will defeat the acquisition, so are Newalta shares temporarily worth buying for sale just before the close?

Q: I just read your answer about PEY - "The stock performance of course has been brutal. We no longer see it as a need to own name."
I also own TOU and SGY, with stock performance being brutal, too! Do you see continuing to owning these 2 names?.......Tom

Q: Reading the answers given to inquiries on ENB, would it not be prudent to counsel some patience until fact gathering step can be performed before attempting to respond? As more information comes available, it is becoming clear that the impact may not be that significant and that it may trigger a number of regulatory rate reviews that could diminish the impact of the announcement yesterday. It is also clear that only gas and not oil pipelines are at this time impacted. Seems to me that some value should be attached to the quality of management to cope with regulatory pronouncements in such instances. The quest by members for immediate opinions may not assist in making wise investment decisions.

Q: 2 part question. 1. Listening to Nutell and Schacter on BNN and they are continually talking about the next cycle in energy and how a lot of the Cdn. Energy stocks have been beaten up and now is the time to buy these things and hold them for 3 or 4 years for significant gains. Acknowledge these guys are talking up their own books but do you agree with the thesis and if so, do you view more upside in natural gas or oil? 2. If you agree with the thesis, what do you think of the suggested companies? Also thinking on investing in a basket of 5 rather than an individual stock to lessen the risk. Do u agree? Thx

Looking for best growth recovery.

Q: If you had to pick one out of those two stocks for 1 to 2 year outlook, which one would you pick? I realized that ENB is more of a utility and more interest rate sensitive, but still is related to the oil industry. Both stocks have been beaten down, but wandering which one in your opinion would have more upside if oil starts moving up? Thanks for the great service.
Q: Hi Guys,
What do you think about Spartans earnings and prospects. There is so much commentary about how this company has a great balance sheet, and the founders have made, and sold companies for large profits, and is a must own name in the energy space. Well.. I have owned for 3-4 years and am underwater. New reports have indicated that they have pulled out of a conference next month (speculation that there are in talks with other parties now to merge, and/or be bought). Eric N, who seems extremely knowledgeable to the energy markets, thinks it is a great play, and may think news/takeout is in store. What do you guys think!

Q: I have a small position in TAG in a trading account. It seems to have some earnings and no debt while not exposed to our Canadian energy market problems. However, it also seems to by unable to hit on any of its big targets.
I was wondering if you think it is time to move on or by more and wait for the next positive news cycle?

Q: I am really down on this company. Some analysts predict a lower gas price this summer due to oversupply. Should I sell and take my losses or is there some hope for recovery next winter.?
Q: Hi,
Can you please give me your thoughts on Enerflex as a buy at this level and if you have a 12 month price target on it.
Thank you,
Brian

Q: What do you make of BDI's 2017 4th quarter? It looks like their BOXX division is growing.
Q: Hi Peter an team, I've had these two darlings for a while, so of course I'm down. In a previous question when the price of oil was much lower you said they could rally if the price of oil would rise. How come there hasn't been a bit of a rally in these two. Thanks, Nick
Q: May I get your comments on Surge Energy quarterly results please?
Q: I am down a considerable amount on this stock. About -70%. When other energy stocks move up it does not react or continues to slide. Shall I sell and move on or be patient. It is 2% of my over all portfolio. I am underweight in energy.
Q: Which would you prefer at this time:Yangarra or Raging River?
Q: Is VET is able to get Brent prices for much of their oil production? If so, does that bode well for the company going forward.
Q: I'd like to know your opinion on Step Energy Services. Since your last comment in January they made a large acquisition of Tucker Energy in the US. How does the company look now?
Q: With the recent pull back, would this be a buy?
Thanks
Dave.
Thanks

Q: Can you tell me the difference between investing in The Sprott Energy Fund(SPR006) vs Sprott Energy Opportunities Trust (NRGY.UN).
From what I've read the Trust tries to replicate the Fund. I'm curious if there are pros/cons in going with one over the other.
Thanks!
