Q: Regarding my earlier q on NRGY you mentioned that it was trading at a discount of around 3.5% and explained that there were some good reasons not to like the mutual fund that it would roll into.
But given that closed it closed at 5.52 and Ninepoint shows NAV as 6.03 it could - at that price - be purchased at a discount of about 8%, no? If that were the case, would it not have made sense - apart from the commodity risk - for a fund which will close in about 4 weeks and for which an investor would receive its NAV?
(I was really asking whether I was missing something in the conversion process from NRGY to NPP008)

Q: Hi Team: The price collapse in TCW seems overdone considering the overall financial improvement in this company. What would be the book value of TCW and could it buy back more aggressively it's stock considering the compeling valuation? I am considering averaging down late into tax selling season and thinking two to three years hold.
Many thanks,
Jean

Q: NRGY is trading about 9% below NAV this morning (Based on Friday's closing NAV and this morning's moves in oil equities). Given that the fund is being closed and rolled into Ninepoint's energy mutual fund, does is it make sense to buy if you are okay with owning the mutual fund?
Also, do you have to accept the mutual fund or can you request cash when a fund is closed like this?

Q: I am a senior and hold TOG, WCP, and SGY. I am down about 75%. Should I continue to hold, buy more or switch to another growth stock? Thank you!
Q: Hi Ryan As a long term holder of VET the stock has a hard time generating a growth return.
I understand the huge discount on Can oil as part of the reason ,what I cant understand why the market gives no credit for VET,s foreign holdings not subject to the WCS discount.
My thinking is to exit and sit on cash till this political crap settles out.
Kind Regards
Stan

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
I have had several energy “related “ stocks over the years , most have left a sour taste - In my “basket “ representing a small % of my portfolio I still have HWO, SES, CEU and TDW . If I add PSI I will drop one of the above . Please deduct credits as you see for but with some detail tell me which one versus the others
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Can you give me any insight into the recent news from the company regarding acquisition talks.
Should it be viewed as positive or a risky and potentially dilutive proposal.
Thank you

Q: Hello, great site.
Which companies will benefit the most from an approval of the BC LNG project? How likely it will proceed?
Thanks.

Q: With the current takeover on the table and the share price above the takeover price, how much longer would you wait for a higher bid to materialize before selling this one off?
Q: Do you know of any reason or have an opinion for the recent decline in Questor?
Q: Hello 5i
I just sold a small amount of Precison Drilling to recuperate a tax loss. I don't really want to keep anything like this permanantly in my portfolio but was hoping to buy it back in 30 days in order to get back at least what I paid for it. Is there any other stock that I could use as a substitute in the meantime?
thanks

Q: Hi guys - I have owned BNP/OBE/CET for a few years now and as you know, it has been very painful. I am almost at capitulation on these three stocks, waiting for a turnaround that never seems to come. Am I better off selling these names and buying some of your ideas that have momentum or hanging on to these "dogs" and waiting for the turnaround?
Thanks - David

Q: I have been holding on to this stock in my TSFA for sometime. Do you think there is any hope or should I just move on?.
Q: What are your thoughts about Opsens. It has lost almost half its value since I purchased it about a year ago for my high risk portfolio. Do you see any upside for this company or should I cut my losses and sell? Always appreciate your advice.

Q: I need help to clean up and high grade my energy stocks. I have the following in the energy sector: ENB, IPL, PPL, SCL, SGY, TOU and WCP (all were acquired between 2011 and 2014), and I would like to reduce the number of positions. I have not added to the energy sector since Q3 2014.
Energy makes up 8% of my entire portfolio (DCPP, mutual funds, and a stock portfolio managed by me – the 7 stocks referred to above). I have been very patient, but my patience is running out with some of these stocks. Some days I feel like selling the losers and investing in another sector, other days I feel like averaging down on some of the losers (it’s been 4 years since I added to the sector).
I am up 50% on PPL, so plan to keep it. Breakeven on IPL and ENB. Down 33% on WCP, and down >50% on SCL, SGY and TOU. Not including dividends.
I am considering adding VET as it seems to be better quality (recommended by 5i and others), but I don’t want to have too much overlap with the other stocks, nor do I want to increase the number of stocks in my portfolio.
Assuming that I keep the same overall energy weighting, how would you high grade this portfolio. I am open to other energy companies, the only criteria is that it pays a dividend.
Thanks,
Paul

Q: It appears that sometime in the medium to long term future the majority of the vehicles on the road will be electric. My question is, with the stock market being forward looking, at what point does this start to affect oil related stocks. Maybe it has started to affect them now. I have heard a few people say they are staying away from oil now because of this. I know there are a lot of factors on this topic but I would appreciate your educated guess.
Q: WCP continues to be out of favor and is not keeping pace with the Energy Sector. Any comment other than it needs a momentum catalyst?
