Q: Hi, most of my portfolio is trying to hang in with such a volatile market, but these two companies are killing me.
I see vet is now over 9% dividend which I like, but also know nothing good comes from it.
Is it time to raise the white flag to fossil fuels and go totally renewable, or would I probably be selling at the low?
I have to hand it to the environmentalist and protesters they are doing a great job against the oil companies.
Could you give me two of your favourites for renewables.
Thanks

Q: I plan on selling VET this week and yet its share price keeps on falling. At today close I'm down about 25%. I was planning to let it go at about 22 to 23%.

Should I just sell VET at whatever price it opens tomorrow? Or you believe the majority of the tax loss selling are over and there is a chance that there could be a slight rebound. Please advise.

Q: My understanding is that transportation fuel costs, account for 70% of oil consumption. If that is somewhat correct, and the direction of car manufacturing is toward Tesla like vehicles, what is your long term view on oil. How does it get back to 100.00 with supply continuing to have a positive trend? Costs continue to rise?
Many thanks

Q: I sold Bonterra at 14.50 a few weeks ago. Since then the company has cut its dividend to next to nothing. As per I can understand the company has a .61 cents per share debt and the dividend cut was 1.09 cut per year. The insider buying has not slowed down. but the stock keeps on sliding down. price to book 15 dollars. Is this a buy opportunity? Thanks for your great service

Q: I have held sgy ,wcp and xeo for several years and am down substantaily. I recently added more sgy and wcp on the hope of benefiting from tax loss selling. Both wti and wcs prices are rising this past week but these oil stocks are continuing to go down. If oil prices continue to rise slowly where do you think these stocks will be in the new year. Q: Hi: With continued huge increases in US shale oil production and possible US oil self dependency to what extent could this decrease demand for Canadian oil volumes to the US thereby negatively impacting Canadian pipeline companies and thus share values? Thanks.

Q: Any news on this company? I see it dropped 10%+ yesterday but cannot find any news. Near a new 52 week low. It seems to be one of the companies that would benefit most by the Canadian production cuts as they produce just under 10,000 boe/d from what I can see.

If one thinks that a recovery in energy could come through the winter, would this be a good candidate? I realize it does not have the safety of a Suncor or CNQ

Q: Merry Xmas
Six months ago, it was suggested PEY needed a bit more time. Since then it as dropped a little more. So far I have taken a 50% hit. It is in my RRIF Would you suggest selling now or holding longer. A month or two ago, it seemed to be moving in the right direction, but that all changed recently.
Another big loser of mine in my RRIF is ARC. Would you consider selling it or holding.
Thanks for all you do
