Q: I thought Imperial Oil had a great quarter but it's getting hammered by the market. What did I miss and what is your outlook here? Should I switch to a different oil stock?

Q: I’m thinking of expanding my energy holdings. I bought Whitecap a few months ago and have enjoyed a nice bump in value along with a solid dividend. I’m considering TVE, SU and/or ENB for a combo of dividend and SP appreciation. Could you please discuss the relative merits of each in a 1-2 year timeline. I’d definitely hold longer if the case can be made that green energy investment and ESG movements don’t derail fossil fuel companies from meeting existing market demand.
Q: Hi 5i
WCP report earnings today...How did they do in your opinion? Shares are down -3% so far..
What is their outlook going forward and if its looking OK at what price would be a decent entry point.

Q: For a longer term (5-10yr) dividend hold we currently own AQN and are wondering if adding or replacing it with another such as EMA, FTS or NPI is prudent given AQN's flaccid performance over the past 18 months.
Thank you for sharing your insight.

Q: Is this Solar ETF a buy, hold or sell ? Or would it make more sense to add to my existing positions in BEP, FTS and AQN ? Thanks for this great service.

Q: Dear 5i,
I hope you're well today.
I'm trying to pick the "better" company in which to invest new money.
May I have your opinion, please?
I like all three, but between BEP, CPX, and AQN what would be your preference?
Thank you.

Q: Good Morning,
Two ?s here: I put in a buy on SU before markets opened with a limit 21 cents above yesterdays close. It didn't fill, and now the stock is up about $2.50.
How would you approach putting an order in prior to market opening on this sort of event?
And do you think there is more room to run on the share price based on the quarter, dividend increase and share by back news?
Thanks,
Tim

Q: Could you please comment on Suncor's Q3 results and increased dividend. Do you see SU as a long term hold? I have a significant SU position in 2 margin accounts and can't decided at what speed I should be moving these investment dollars to green energy stocks that I would hold forever. Thanks for valuable information!

Q: Good afternoon,
I came across this article:
https://www.rvtravel.com/expect-higher-prices-short-supply-propane-winter-1023b/
Would SPB be a good way to play this theme? Are there any US alternatives?
Thanks in advance.

Q: Thoughts on earnings? Is this a good opportunity?
Q: Supposing that I don't like the deal announced yesterday, what would make a good replacement stock in the sector that offers a 4%+ dividend and some aspect of, "greening"?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: what are your thoughts on the Capital Power Q report?

Q: There was a big sell off today following the third quarter earnings report.
Is the news that bad, or is this a buying opportunity?

Q: I have held Cenovus for a few years in a registered account. Would you see better valuation and growth in Suncor or another company. Who has the better upside?
Thank you

Q: According to their latest annoucement Athabasca is going to hedge 75% of their production at $66 for the next 18 months. With oil prices rising does this seem like a good idea and what would this do to the leverage of the company in the future? Also this was one of the highest leveraged companies for it size, is it still when compared to other similar sized companies.

Q: Hello Peter,
Are there any issues with having BEP,UN in a TFSA? Is it similar to investing in any other dividend paying stocks in a TFSA ( in terms of receiving dividends ): there are no extra forms to fill out as it is a limited partnership.. Also, if the company is not profitable, what is the thesis of investing in it: great cash flow, part of BAM, and the right sector such as renewable energy. From a fundamental basis, is it better than investing in AQN or NPI?

Q: Comments on acquisition?
Q: Can you give me your opinion on todays announcement of an acquisition and a stock offering. They say it will be accretive, yet I can' help but think it will be dilutive.
Also they say there will not be another offering before mid 2022 - Does this mean they will be making another acquisition?
Are they using the offerings in part to cover the dividends?
This is a stock I bought for the dividend, but expected some growth and safety. I actually have a small capital gain, but the stock has done very poorly over the past year, although I know the pandemic has been a severe negative factor.
They say that this acquisition means that 80% of the company will be regulated - why do some analysts talk about this as a renewable energy company?
Should I dump it?
